Lucy's Pov

I informed Brenda that Gregg had offered to take me back to her house to pick my car up. I needed to be home soon and seeing as she's having fun, I didn't want to ruin that. She seemed fine with it, relieved actually, she did ask me to tell her the details later.

Jake didn't seem to like the idea of Gregg taking me home. "You're going so soon?" He ran after us. Gregg nodded.

"My date needs to be home soon," was all he commented. Jake looked at me, frowning.

"You'll return, right? The fun is just about to start." Jake never took his eyes off me. "Princess, tell your lover to come back once he drops you off."

Gregg furrowed his eyebrows, "Princess? Far as I know, the Daisy chick, is your girl. Not Lucille, so why are you calling her princess?"

Jake breathed deeply, I could tell he was annoyed. His cocky attitude had gone away since Gregg stated that he was my date today. "I was with her before Daisy."

"Was." Gregg repeated, "Not anymore, Jake. I have to get her home, see you later." He opened the door for me and shut it after I got in.

Jake glared at me again before typing something on his phone. Seconds later, my phone vibrated; I ignored it.

"So you two dated?" Gregg questioned after a few minutes of driving. I nodded and he asked what had happened.

"I'd rather not go into detail about that right now." Thankfully, he understood. Few more minutes passed until we arrived at Brenda's house. I got in my car and Gregg leaned against the driver side. "So, would you go on a date with me tomorrow?"

I smiled nervously. I do want to go on a date with him but I need to ask my parents. I'm not sure if dad would allow me to go since I came tonight. "I have to ask first."

Gregg smiled brightly, "Are either of your parents awake right now?"

I arched an eyebrow, "Uh, yeah. My dad is always awake when I'm not home." It's true. Dad always stays up late to wait until I arrive.

"Splendid," He beamed. "I'll follow you to your house and ask him." It'd be great if he asked for me since dad is scary, in my opinion. I'm just not sure if that would be a good idea. I'm not sure how dad will react when he sees Gregg. "Sure." I answer automatically.

I mentally slap myself afterward.

Gregg follows me home after he saves my number in his phone. Brenda's house isn't far from mine, we're about ten minutes away from each other.

I parked in my usual spot and waited until Gregg got off his car so we could walk inside my house together. Dad opened the door before I could insert my key. "Who's this?"

I opened my mouth to speak but Gregg beat me to it. "I'm Gregg, sir." He smiled, dad frowned. "I'm met your daughter a few days ago."

"Well, thanks for escorting Lucille home. You can go now, boy." Dad was always harsh, rude or mean. He was hardly nice. But that didn't scare Gregg.

"Actually, sir." Gregg dared to ask, "I was wondering if you'd give me permission to take Lucille out on a date tomorrow at 8 in the morning. I'll have her back by 3:30."

Dad scanned Gregg with his eyes for a brief moment. "You have manners." He nodded, "Very well, she can go with you tomorrow."

My jaw almost fell off my face. I couldn't believe it. "Thank you, sir." He beamed, eyes shining in the moonlight. "I'll see you tomorrow, lucille." His eyes traveled back to dad, "Goodnight, sir." He sent me a loving stare.

Goodnight, Gregg. I smiled.
