-Corina-"Now, Corina if you want help, you have to be willing to let us help you," Doctor Oswald told me.
I looked up at him as I played with Opal's whiskers. "Now tell me, Corina how did you get out of your room last night? The nurse found a pair of restraint keys in your room," he asked me.
I cuddled Opal as I opened my mouth to speak. "Opal got them for me. He knew the dolls were coming after me," I told him.
A moment later a violent shot of electricity went through my body from the probes that were attached to my skin.
"Wrong! You did it, Corina! Repeat after me the dolls don't exist, they don't move!" Doctor Oswald commanded.
"They do exist! They attack me when the lights go out!" I protested.
Doctor Oswald pressed the button again sending another shocking of electricity through my body. My head throbbed and my vision swam and distorted. Soon everything went black.
I opened my eyes and looked around slowly. I was standing in snow, in lots of snow. But I wasn't cold. I wasn't holding Opal anymore either, I frowned as I took a step forward and started walking.
"Opal! Opal! Where are you?!" I called out as I struggled to trek through the deep snow. However, it was like I was stuck in that one spot.
"Opal!" I called out.
"Did you get stuck again, Millia?"
I looked up toward the voice to see an odd looking man. He reminded me of a stitched up puppet.
"So many stitches," I whispered.
He chuckled. "Of course I have stitches, you gave them to me. You always know just the right way to sew me up," he told me.
I frowned and looked around before I looked back at the odd man, "I know how to sew but I don't like doing it. It attracts the dolls it makes them stare at me. By the way, have you seen an orange and white cat?"
The man just stared at me for a moment before he slowly smiled at me. "Are you ready to die yet, Millia?" He asked me.
"What? No, of course not! My name isn't Millia, it's Corina why are you calling me that?" I exclaimed.
The man was silent for a few moments before he smiled slightly. "I understand, Millia."
The man turned around and started walking away from me. "Hey, come back! Where are you going?" I shouted.
However, the man either couldn't hear me or he ignored me because he just kept walking until I couldn't see him.
I woke up on a bed gasping for air. I frowned as I squinted up at the ugly, gray, ceiling.
I could feel a throbbing pain starting behind my right eye.
I always have a headache after my sessions with Doctor Oswald.
I sat up in bed and when I did I noticed that I was in the infirmary. I climbed slowly out of bed and walked over to the nearby nurses' station.
"Hi, Corina do you need anything?" She asked me gently.
I nodded slowly, "Yeah. Where's, Opal? My toy kitten?" I asked her.
The nurse frowned for a moment before reaching under the desk and bringing out Opal. I noticed that half of his tail was missing.
"What happened to him!?" I shrieked.
"Oh honey, Doctor Oswald accidentally ripped his tail off. He thought you were hiding more keys inside of the cat. I'm sorry, do you need help with him?" She asked me.
I clutched Opal to my chest and let out a whimper as I rocked back and forth. "Needle and thread! I need a needle and thread to stop his bleeding!" I said frantically.
"Your toy isn't bleeding honey, but okay," the nurse told me.
"Shut the fuck up! If you aren't going to help me go away! I'll do it myself!" I snapped at her.
She jumped startled by my outburst before she scrambled away hopefully to get the needle and thread.
I grabbed the torn end of Opal's tail so that his red stuffing wouldn't come out anymore. "You'll be okay, Opal please don't worry, I'll fix you up as good as new," I whispered.
When the nurse came back I snatched the supplies out of her hands pricking my finger as I did.
As I sewed Opal's tail up he would squirm slightly in my lap.
It's okay Opal just a little more. I'm so sorry about this I wish I could do more for you.
A few moments later I was finished, Opal sat up in my lap and yawned.
"What in the... I can't believe this..." The nurse whispered.
I grinned and hugged Opal. "It's okay, you'll be alright now," I whispered as I clutched him to my chest.
Opal let out a bored sounding meow as he licked my cheek.
"This isn't possible, I must be as crazy as you are, Corina. Hell, I'm even crazier there's no way that cat is actually alive," The nurse said shaking her head.
I frowned at her, "You're rude, Opal is just as alive as you are!"
She shook her head. "No, just no. This isn't real, I'm too stressed. That's it I'm going to ask for time off right now," she said to herself. Then she left the room.
I patted Opal's head. "Don't listen to her Opal you're real, especially to me."
