I am no stranger to illness, while I can't get sick when I was first summoned to the human world by my first Mistress, Rose, Europe was just starting to enter its industrial era. There were crippled factory workers broken from their long days working away in front of a machine.

There were the homeless people and begging children on street corners, while overworked horse carcasses littered the streets.

Now that it was the nineteen fifties disease had died down slightly, but it was more misunderstood than anything at times.

Truth be told I was willing to admit that I was more than likely the reason that I was the reason that Corina was currently sick.

I did make her jump into a lake in the middle of the night after all.

Matthew stopped pacing for a moment and looked at me. "You caused this didn't you?" He asked me.

For once I answered him immediately. "I...may have caused this," I mumbled.

"I knew it! Of course, you're nothing but a monster that's out to kill her!" He snapped.

"Are you finished? You'll wake up, Corina if you keep yelling," I said calmly.

He narrowed his eyes at me as he gritted his teeth. Opal let out a meow as he stared at Matthew.

After a moment or two, Matthew let out a sigh. "I hate you I really do. I don't understand why Corina would trust something like you. I...I want you to take her to the family doctor. Take my car and please be careful," he told me.

I smiled slightly as I took the keys from him and a small slip of paper which had an address on it. I had no problem carrying, Corina to the car. She barely woke up on the way there.

I noticed that her breathing sounded awful, there was a hollow raspy sound to it.

Opal seemed even more worried than I was because he kept hovering over Corina as I buckled her up.

"Don't worry, Opal she'll be alright," I told him.

He let out a soft meow as a response but said nothing more.

The address that Matthew had given me led me to a house deep in the woods, isolated from the rest of the town.

I frowned as I stared at the log cabin through the windshield.

I wonder what could possibly possess a human to live all the way out here.

I got out of the car and walked over to the door after a moment or two I knocked on the door. It instantly swung open and I jumped slightly.

My eyes met those of an old man. He frowned as he stared at me with his brown eyes and after a moment pushed his glasses up, adjusting them so they no longer sat on the tip of his nose.

"Let me guess, Kathleen sent you?" He asked me.

I frowned at his question.

Isn't Kathleen the name of Corina's mother?

"No, Matthew told me to come here. Corina is sick," I told him.

For a moment or two the man just stared at me then he sighed. "Alright, bring her inside," he mumbled.
