I woke up slowly the smell of burning flesh and dry smoke almost acidic smoke wafted through the stale air.

I coughed and instantly winced as a sharp pain flashed through my throat.

I ran my fingers over my neck finding a rough piece of material there.

What is that?

I felt around a bit more until my fingers found something that felt like a metal buckle.

Is this a collar?

"Why am I wearing a dog collar?" I whispered my voice came out sounding rough and raspy.

"You're wearing that collar because I have to teach you how to control yourself just like an animal."

I looked to my left, through bars of a cage, to see Taiga leaning up against the wall and watching me while looking slightly bored.

"Did you put me in here, because if you did I'm telling you right now this isn't funny so let me out!" I snapped at him.

He narrowed his eyes at me then stood up straight. "Oh, Matthew I don't think its funny either. I don't think it's funny how you think after putting, Corina in danger you can order me to do anything. I don't think it's funny how when I try to teach you something you never listen to a single word I say! And I especially don't think it's hilarious that you thought you could fucking strangle, Corina!" He yelled at me.

I stared at him with wide eyes my fingers still touching the collar as my body froze at his words, a chill sweeping up my spine a spreading throughout my body. "I...did what?" I whispered.

"You heard me, I swear I expected you to do a lot of stupid shit, to fuck up a lot of things but the most basic principle," he said then sighed as he massaged temples as he looked at me with red eyes.

"You're lucky your sister has a good heart if it were me I would've left you in hell to rot while the maggots ate out your tongue," he grumbled.

I shook my head slowly. "No, I couldn't have. I would never hurt, Corina. I protect her, I always have," I said.

Taiga leaned down and picked up something. "You know they say acceptance is one of the five stages of grief, but for you, there will just be one and it'll be obedience," he told me slowly.

I looked at down at the ground. "No you don't understand, I don't remember anything. I was taking care of personal business associate from Spain who was interested in meeting, Corina so I and a few guys took care of him during dinner before that could happen. After that... I, I remember being really angry...there was also a strange smell," I explained.

I closed my eyes and tried to remember more.

Did I drink during dinner? No, I don't do that because if I did things would get unpredictable.

I never get high...

Taiga sighed. "You killed someone before you met with Corina," he asked me frowning.

I opened my eyes and looked at him. "Well, I killed four. It was the person I had dinner with and the three people he brought with them," I said scowling.
