"Is this section of Europe always like this?" I asked Taiga.

Ever since we stepped off of the plane it had been raining heavily and the fog was thick in the air.

"Well, it wasn't always this bad. It's mostly due to the pollution in the air coming from the numerous factories, and the ash from the chimneys in town that causes smog," he told me.

Opal moved around inside my coat trying to shelter himself the best he could from the rain.

Matthew glanced at him. "You know if you become a stuffed animal you could just ride in the suitcase and be sheltered from all of the rain," he told him.

Taiga looked back at Matthew, turning his attention away from the map. "You do realize you're speaking to a cat correct if it's anyone he would understand it would be, Corina," Taiga said.

Matthew just rolled his eyes while I patted Opal's head.

We walked for what felt like a while we eventually stopped in front of a large brick building. For a moment Taiga frowned then he let out a sigh. "Of course," he muttered as he rolled the map up.

"What is it?" I asked him frowning.

He looked at me. "I just have the feeling that, God is laughing at me today," he grumbled.

"Really? You too I've felt like that ever since I saw you in that awful asylum," Matthew told Taiga.

"Would you two please quit it you're bickering is giving me a headache!" I snapped which surprisingly did make them be quiet.

I let out a sigh then looked at Taiga. "Okay so what exactly is wrong with this building despite the fact that, that girl, Elize is here?" I asked him.

"This is the Rose Garden Orphanage which also acts as a convent. There are priest and nuns everywhere so we have to limit suspicious activities to a minimum," Taiga explained.

For a moment he frowned then he turned to Matthew. "Come with me, Matthew. Corina, I want you to wait for us in the garden at the front gates. What we're going to do shouldn't take long," he told me.

I followed Taiga's instructions sitting down on a small wooden bench in front of a stone fountain that sat in the garden. Standing on top of the fountain was a large statue of an angel whose eyes seemed to be following me.

Opal made a low hissing sound at the statue from inside of my coat. "Shh, it's okay... I think. Taiga wouldn't tell me to sit here if he didn't think it was safe," I whispered.

I glanced up at the statue to see that its features had warped slightly the statue was smirking at me. Its eyes turned down as though it were glaring at me slightly while the corners of its mouth stretched upwards in a sadistic and strange looking smile.

Opal let out a loud hiss and I felt one of his claws prick my breast causing me to wince and let out a small shriek. When I actually started to scream because of the statue, however, a hand covered my mouth.

"Don't scream, Corina or you'll draw every single nun, priest, and child out here," Taiga whispered in my ear.

I snatched his hand off of my mouth and turned to look back at him.

Well, that's surprising.

"Why are you two dressed like  priests?" I asked slowly as I looked at Matthew and Taiga.

"We have to get inside somehow. Don't you dare laugh, Corina," Taiga told me as he handed me what I assumed was a nun's outfit.

I shook my head. "Wouldn't dare laugh or ask where you just happened to find these but I will tell you this. Matthew, you have blood splatters on your left hand and, Taiga you have them on your right cheek," I informed them.

I walked into the nearby alley to change clothes and as I did I couldn't help but let out a sigh.

What in the world has my life become?

Opal let out a meow a poked my ankle with his paw. "I know, Opal but we have to go whether we like it or not," I told him as I picked him up.

I swear I saw him frown but then he nuzzled my neck. I smiled as I returned to the garden and the moment I did Taiga handed me a revolver.

I instantly recognized it. "How? Have you been holding onto my father's revolver this whole time?" I asked him as I took it from him.

"Yes, I told you'd need it for later remember," he reminded me.

"Was that after or before you shot me you bastard," I heard Matthew grumbled under his breath.

"Before," Taiga cheerfully answered which caused Matthew to glare at him.

"But that's beside the point I want you to make sure you keep that weapon with you, Corina. Only another the Puppet Masters can kill each other," Taiga told me.

I frowned as I looked down at the gun in my hands as I bit my lip.

A moment later I picked up Opal allowing him to go limp and return to a stuffed animal in my hands before I began to stick the gun down his mouth.

"Oh, so that's how you accomplish that. You use him as storage space," Taiga said as he watched with interest.

I rolled my eyes. "Opal isn't a storage facility he's my friend. I make sure to warn him beforehand so that he won't feel pain," I told him. "If I did this to you without your consent wouldn't it hurt?" I asked him.

"Perhaps but over time physical pain is an easy thing to fix, Mistress," he told me.
