It hurt when Corina yelled at me and shut me out. Truth be told we used to be as close as a brother and sister could be but when Corina turned thirteen we started to drift apart.

At first, I thought it was just a puberty thing so for a while I left her alone, but one night I woke up to her screaming like a mad woman and running down the hallways of the manor. When I asked her what was wrong she told me that her dolls were trying to kill her.

At first I just chalked it up to nightmares and sleepwalking, however, it kept happening repeatedly, until we placed her in the asylum. I didn't see Corina for years after that, I regretted putting her in there but at the time I believed it was the only way to make my sister better.

The only way to return her to her normal self. When she finally returned home though she brought a monster with her.

I let out a sigh as I tossed my pen on my desk.

Completing paperwork can get tedious at times. I think I have only one more stack to complete though.

I ran a hand over my face as I let out a yawn. "I need a break," I mumbled.

A moment later there was a knock at my office door. I scowled as I looked at the door.

"Come in!" I called out.

A moment later Corina slowly peeked around the door before slowly entering the room. She was wearing her pajamas and clutching her stuffed cat to her chest.

"What do you need, Corina?" I asked gently.

She frowned and looked away from me briefly. "Matthew, may I sleep in your room?" She whispered.

For a few moments, I just stared at her my mouth slightly open.

Corina actually needs me for something! She actually asked me for something!

Honestly, I was a little more than slightly surprised. "S-sure, but why do you want to sleep in my bed?" I asked her. And the moment I did Corina's face went blank as she shut down.

I held back a sigh of disappointment as my eyes went to the stuffed cat in her arms.

I've already seen one monster toy, it shouldn't be too hard to believe that there are more.

"Is it because of the dolls?" I asked her slowly.

For a moment Corina just stared at the floor then she nodded. "Alright then, I believe you even though it's a bit hard to wrap my head around," I told her.

Corina stared at me for a few moments then she made this odd sniffling sound and looked away. She hid her face behind her stuffed animal.

I got to my feet and walked over to her frowning. Whenever Corina used to start crying she would hide behind something.

"Corina, why are you crying?" I asked gently.

I carefully pushed the stuffed animal away and saw Corina trying her best to cry silently as large tears ran down her face.

At first, she shook her head then she looked up at me. "You-you believe me. You finally believe me," she whimpered.

I smiled sadly as I grabbed her left hand. "Come on let's get you to bed," I said softly.

I patted her head once before I led her to my room holding her hand the whole time.

It didn't take long for Corina to fall asleep in fact she seemed to go to sleep as soon as she laid down, that stuffed cat wrapped in her arms the whole time.

I let out a yawn then froze as I heard a small thump coming from outside my window. At first, I ignored it but then they became more consistent as if it were on a loop.

I got up and walked over to my window then I froze up. There was this odd looking, horrific, fleshy, bulky creature.

It looked like a large man that had been turned inside out.

A moment later these odd looking strings appeared wrapping around the creature to the point of constricting it.

I saw that monster that Corina had called Taiga leap down from what I assumed was the roof. He landed in front of the creature and for a moment he just stood there then he raised his arms.

The creature suddenly just exploded showering Taiga and the grass with blood and chunks of thick pink flesh.

What in the hell is going on around here?
