"Do I look lonely?
I see the shadows on my face
People have told me I don't look the same. Maybe I lost weight
I'm playing hooky, with the best of the best. Put my heart on my chest, so that you can see it too. I'm walking the long road, watching the sky fall. The lace in your dress tangles my neck, how do I live?"______________________________________________________
-Corina-
I had been awake for hours, to be honest since I had entered my room I lost track of time especially since I was sewing.
I glanced down at Opal in my hands, he was nothing but cloth and stuffing at the moment just a regular stuffed animal.
I sniffled as I rubbed a hand over my face to get rid of the tears that were starting to fall before I let out a small yet slightly humorless chuckle.
I remember when Matthew first gave me Opal. He looked nothing like a cat so in the end, I had to resew him from the ground up.
I smiled slightly at the memory before I went back to work.
I was just finishing sewing Opal's neck when I let out a sigh. I ran a hand over my face before placing my sewing needles down.
I need a break. Maybe a walk, or maybe I should go to the nearest bar.
I carefully took off my nun robes which left some tasteful lingerie beneath.
If I go out in just this I may get arrested for suspicion of being a whore.
I frowned as I went through my luggage and put on some dark blue beautiful high heels and a lovely dress to go with.
I forgot that I had this, it's a bit on the thin side but I guess a designer did make it.
I carefully put the dress on over the lingerie before I been applying my makeup.
When I finished I smiled slightly in the mirror before I scowled.
Disgusting... I look like mother.
I tossed the makeup compact on my bed before I turned off the lights and left my room.
Leaving the orphanage was easier than I expected, in fact, they didn't even lock their front gates which almost made me laugh.
Instead, I settled for a small chuckle.
God may help you with a lot of things and he may save you, but even the Lord can't save you from your own stupidity.
I chose to walk to the left my heels click-clacking on the stone street as I moved.
At night there isn't that much smog, there's mist but it's at ground level.
I stopped walking when I caught sight of a large glowing sign on a building.
"The...Crooked Elephant tavern," I whispered.
I smiled slightly before walking inside of the bar. After a quick glance around I chose a seat near a window so that I could easily escape if I needed to.
I reached into my bra and pulled out a pack of cigarettes.
My last two...
I barely looked up when a man sat across from me after a moment he leaned over and lit my cigarette.
