My master...is scared of me?

I frowned as Corina backed away from me an uneasy look on her face.

"I'm sorry if I scared you. I just want to talk to you, Corina," I told her gently.

The use of her name seemed to make her slightly more unsettled. "I don't want to talk to you. What are you? I've seen you before and now you're here," she whispered.

I gave her a confused look. "You've seen me before? Where exactly?" I asked her.

I bit my lip as I stared at Corina.

Could it be the memories of her past life acting up again? Millia had trouble with them too.

My eyes landed on the stuffed cat toy that Corina had been clinging to this whole time.

That cat! It's the same one that cut me up and got me sent here.

"Why do you have that stuffed cat?" I asked her slowly.

"He isn't a stuffed cat! His name is, Opal!" She snapped.

I jumped slightly startled at her sudden outburst.

"Did, Opal do that to your eye?" I asked her referring to her eye that was covered by an eye patch.

"Opal would never hurt me," she whispered tightening her grip on it.

Yes, he would that thing is downright demonic.

I let out a sigh of irritation as someone tapped me on my shoulder.

I turned to the person coming face to face with a smiling nurse holding a clipboard.

"What?" I snapped.

The nurse gave me a sympathetic look but continued to smile. "Taiga, Corina it's a good thing I found you two. It's time for your medication," she informed us.

Corina's eyes narrowed but she didn't speak.

"Medication...really?" I grumbled.

"Of course! You can't cure an illness without some type of medication," the nurse said cheerfully.

She took two small pill bottles out of her pocket, after checking the labels she handed both, Corina and I two pills.

Corina stared at the pills for a moment before she dry swallowed them. The nurse seemingly satisfied walked away.

I looked at Corina frowning as she stared in the direction that the nurse had walked off in.

Then she stuck two fingers in her mouth and removed the pills that I thought she had swallowed.

She tossed them to the side then looked at the pills the nurse had given me.

"What is it? What's wrong?" I asked her in confusion.

However, she didn't answer me and a moment later she slapped the medication out of my hand.

"Don't take that!" She growled.

I frowned at her, "Will you please tell me what's wrong?" I practically pleaded with her.

She glared at the medicine on the floor. "Didn't you see it? If you aren't human you had to have seen it." She whispered biting her bottom lip.

I looked at the pills but they appeared to be normal medication.

Could my master...actually be crazy?

I let out a sigh. "I would have seen what?" I asked her slowly.

For a few moments, I just stood there with my arms crossed waiting for her to answer.

"That nurse, she...she didn't have a face. I pay attention and the other nurses have faces but the one that was just here didn't," she whispered.

For a second I froze then I took off after the faceless nurse.

I can't believe they're here. Especially so soon.

I ran down the second-floor stairs and at the bottom I found the faceless nurse. She was sinking into and through the floor like she was in quicksand.

I gritted my teeth and throughout my hands releasing my weapons. My stitches lifted off my arms instantly almost like they had a mind of their own. They rose up then headed for the nurse sinking into the floor.

I smirked when they wrapped around her arm causing a small amount of blood to well up.

My stitches could be used like sharpened piano wire to harm, tether or restraint.

The nurse's neck made an empty cracking noise as she slowly twisted her head back to look at me.

Her faceless head turned in my direction and then her back began to bend.

A moment later I was thrown back onto the stairs. For a few moments, I lay there groaning in pain as my vision struggled to focus.

Son of a bitch that hurt!

I heard a meow nearby and I turned my head to the left to see Opal. He was taller, walking on his hind legs and carrying something in his paws while sneering at me.

I struggled to get up but it was like my body wouldn't obey.

Why can't I move?! I should have control over my own body I haven't made a contract with my master yet.

Opal looked at me then he raised the object in his hand and brought it down on my head.

The pain that followed made my vision go white, causing me to cry out, gasping.

As everything started fading to black I could hear a voice, my master's voice.

"Oh no that's not good, his stitches are broken. Opal, please help me carry him."
