You woke up without Patrick beside you, making you frown. You stood up from the bed, seeing no surprise or anything special.
Maybe he forgot it was your birthday. He never did, but maybe now, he did.
You walked out of the room and went in the bathroom, tying your hair in a messy bun. You saw writing on the mirror, and when you leaned in closer, you noticed that your lipstick was the material used to write the message.
'I love you. Go down, my love.'
You had no idea why he-Patrick, wanted you to go outside for some reason, but a birthday surprise was the least you expected.
You hurriedly ran downstairs, seeing Andy, Pete and Joe hanging up streamers, setting tables and texting people. They all looked at you with their mouths open, not able to say anything.
Then, Patrick burst out of the closet downstairs. "What's going on? Why'd you stop prepari-"
He caught a glimpse of you, opening his mouth as well.
"I'm sorry for this ruined surprise, (Y/N). I failed." He walked up to you and hugged you, but you pulled away and kissed him deeply.
"You didn't ruin anything," you said, smiling at him. You pulled away.
He kissed you again. "Happy birthday, love."
