Kidnapped

Chapter 13

Alexia had just finished plugging the address into the GPS. Zach, who was in the drivers seat, pulled out of the driveway. "Alright now that we're on the road, can you tell me what's going on?" Zach asked. "Well it's a long story," Alexia said quietly. Zach looked at the GPS, "Well you have 10 minutes," he said turning his attention to the road. Alexia took a deep breath, "Okay so about 7 years ago, Thomas kidnapped me in an alley," Alexia began, "and when I escaped, Steph brought me into her house,". Zach nodded for her to go on. "When my mom came to see me he kidnaped her and told me to go there tonight. And now I'm afraid that he'll hurt Steph and my mom," Alexia said breaking down into tears. "We're not gonna let that happen," Zach said turning the car onto a small road. "Where are we going?" Alexia asked sitting up from a slouched position. "Well we're definitely not going to that alley," Zach said. He parked the car in front of his restaurant  and got out. "Are you coming?" he asked. "Fine," Alexia grumbled," but only for a few minutes,". Alexia got out of the car and slammed the door. She followed Zach into the cafe and stood in the doorway. "Okay, now what?" she said crossing her hands over her chest. Zach had gone behind the front desk and was rummaging through a stack of papers. Alexia was becoming to grow impatient and began to pace the room. "Aha, here it is!" Zach cried holding a piece of paper triumphantly in the air. "What is it?" Alexia asked walking over to him. "Thomas's phone number, he used to work for my dad," Zach said showing her a half sheet of paper. "What do am I going to use that for?" Alexia questioned. "We're going to use it to see if Thomas is in that alley or if he's somewhere else," Zach said pulling out his laptop. "And how will that help me?" Alexia asked. "Well if he's not in the alley, he has someone else waiting for you," Zach said plugging a few numbers into the computer. Alexia just nodded and watched the screen as a map came up. "There," Alexia cried pointing to a dot on the screen, "he's waiting for me,". She began to leave the cafe, "I have to go find them,". "Woah," Zach said grabbing her arm, "let's think about this,". "What is there to think about, my mom and Steph are in trouble!" Alexia said. "I know, but I don't think you should just give yourself to Thomas," Zach said, "who knows what he'll do, he might not even let them go,". Alexia slumped down in a chair, "But what if he hurts them, I can't let that happen,". "It won't, but we need to think about it first," Zach said sitting across from Alexia. Alexia nodded and wiped away a few tears that had rolled down her cheeks.
