Zach:

Zach walked up to the police station. He opened the doors and went inside. "Hello," a lady said looking up from her computer. "Hi, I was wondering if Officer Smith was available?" Zach asked. The lady shook her head, "I'm sorry, he left about an hour ago, can I leave him a message?" she asked grabbing a post it note from a stack on her desk. "Just tell him that I was wondering if he had found anything on a missing person case," Zach said. "I'll go put this on his desk right now," the lady said standing up from her chair. Zach turned around to thank her but noticed a picture frame on his desk. He walked over to her desk and picked the picture up. "Who is this?" Zach asked the lady who had just come back from Officer Smith's office. "That's my boyfriend, James," she said sweetly. "Where is he?" he asked in a whisper. "We'll we were...". Zach interrupted her, "No, where is he right now?". The lady looked surprised, "Oh well he's on vacation in Europe,". Zach nodded and placed the frame down. He turned to leave. "Why do you ask?" she asked him. "Nevermind," Zach said walking away.

Alexia:

Alexia shivered as a gust of icy wind blew through the basement. She pulled her snow-soaked coat tighter around her frail body. She watched as flakes of snow flew in through the broken window. She coul remember building snowmen with her family. She remembered having snowball fights with her friends. She smiled at the newly remembered memories. It felt good to be able to remember the fun times she had had as a kid. Alexia frowned, she would never be able to relive any of those memories as long as she was chained to the basement wall. "I need to get out of here," she realized. She began struggling against the chains, trying to break them from the wall. Feeling defeated, she stopped struggling. She looked around the room for the key. She sat on her knees to get a better look at the table across the room. "Sweetheart, do you think I would be that stupid to leave the keys in the same room with you?" Thomas asked coming down from the upstairs. "You were the first time," Alexia breathed. "What did you say?" Thomas asked coming towards her. "Nothing," Alexia muttered looking away from him. "That's what I thought," Thomas said walking towards a cupboard. He pulled a box of crackers from it and put it on a plastic plate. With plate in hand, he walked over to Alexia. He sat it down beside her and grabbed the bowl of water from the ground. He put fresh water in the bowl and returned it to its spot. "Eat up," Thomas spat going over to the steps. Alexia pushed the food away from her. Thomas watched her push the plate away, "I suggest you eat, we don't want people to ask questions when we go into town next week,".
