Isunaryi

Picking up the young master's body I headed back towards the mansion. 'I will probably get several lashings tonight for bringing back the young master unconscious and more for allowing him to soil his yukata.' Sighing to myself, I quickened my pace. 'Better return immediately.' On the way home my mind returned to the encounter I had with the god. 'I wonder if he even remembered my name. I hope he forgets it after what I have done.'

The sun had almost finished setting when I finally returned with the young master still unconscious upon my back. Many of my fellow compatriots witnessed this and immediately sent for the mistress and the village healers. "Isunaryi! What happened?!" asked Hana who was the female head of the servants. Although she is quite young, as she is only in her mid-twenties, for her position, she is also one of the most efficient and level-headed servant within the household. She took responsibility for nearly everything related to the female division and tries to help us knowing she would face severe repercussions from the mistress. Still holding the young master upon my back, I took a long breath and was about to explain until the mistress arrived.

"Ryou!!! You useless wench!!! What do you do to him!!!" the mistress screeched at the top of her lungs glaring at me with the same luminous aureolin colored eyes I inherited from her. "I-i did nothing to him madam. As I was assisting him with his task a boar suddenly a-." "LIAR!!!" she screamed again as she slapped me across the face. "Did you truly think you could fool me with an unbelievable story!?! As soon as the healers appear you are to escort yourself to the disciplinary quarters. After they assess Ryou's condition I will deal with you. Until then you will remain there, alone, with no food or water. Have I made myself clear?" she hissed the last words words coldly. "Yes madam." I replied softly looking straight at the dirt ground. "Good. HANA!!! WHERE ARE THE HEALERS!?!" she yelled, her face turning into the color of a bruised eggplant from the lack of oxygen. "They are on their way madam. They should be here any minute now." Hana replied. "Lazy kusottare!!! What could they possibly be doing other than attending this household!?!" "A few of the servants were being treated by them madam." "Che. What servant is more important than my son?"

"M-mistress Hanshou w-we are here." The healers huffed out, bodies glistening with sweat and quivering from the run they had made. "Hana! Ensure that Morishige arrives at the disciplinary quarters. She will be isolated and remain without food or water until I say otherwise." the mistress ordered as she practically glared her killing intent towards me. "Yes milady." Hana bowed in response. She grabbed my forearm and nearly dragged me along until we were out of sight. "Now, child, tell me what happened. And quickly if you can. You know how the mistress is with her temper." she asked voice softening as she loosened the vice-like grip she had on me.

"Hana. Do you believe in the gods?" I asked.

"What? What does that have to do with you coming back to the mansion with the young master unconscious?"

"Everything." I responded as I began to tell her about my encounter with Hiboku.
