"I get high, and I love to get low. So the hearts keep breaking, and the heads just roll. You know that's how the story goes."

-

"Hot damn, boo. You look great!" Emery squealed as I tossed open the door. She was clothed in a black lace crop top and denim folded-at-the-ankle jeans, with wicker heeled wedges. She looked great. And then there was me, who looked like something The Fault in Our Stars threw up. I shrugged and smiled.

"You don't look so bad yourself, Eminem." I bumped her hip and laughed. She looked over my shoulder and grinned, waving frantically. I looked over my shoulder and swallowed a hollow breath.

"Alec! So this little chicken is letting you go?" She shouted. He laughed, shaking his head and looking at me up and down with a smirk. I shivered beneath his stare than ran outside, only seeing Blake and Kayde up against Emery's car. They all wolf howled and whistled, making me blush. "Looks like there isn't enough room, sorry, Alec and Avi! We will meet you there!" Emery chuckled evilly, running to the car and shoving everyone inside.

"BUT! There are two more seats!!" I groaned heavily, looking back at Alec whom was locking the front door and grinning.

"Stuck with me now, Fidel. Excited?" I shook my head quickly.

"Far from, actually. Please do not rape me.." I whimpered, causing him to furrow his eyebrows and laugh. We soon were in the car, which smelled of newly bought leather. I almost held my face up to the interior it smelled so good.

"Okay, do not put your face on my baby. That is unacceptable." Alec snapped, laughing.  I grinned.

"Sorry." I said, smiling and falling back against the passenger seat. I have never been in such a nice car, before. He started the ignition and revved the engine then pulled out, his hands gripping around the steering wheel perfectly. I looked over at him and smiled, noticing the small things about his features. How his eyes narrowed every time someone pulled in front of him while he was driving, and the way his dimples appeared each time I took a breath, and the way he smiled every once in a while when I began humming the melody to Justin Beiber.

"Stop checking me out, Fidel. You are making me nervous." Alec chirped, shooting me a glare from the side, even though he couldn't resist but to smile. Now I understand why it is so easy to fall in love with him. Just the smallest features and his silliest actions could simply make a girl go wild. "Are you gonna get out or..?" He chuckled, giving me a pointed look. I made an 'o' shape with my mouth and unbuckled, slipping out.

"You aren't coming?" I asked. He shook his head.

"Maybe later, just not now. I have somewhere to be." He answered, gripping the steering wheel and sighing. Nodding, I shut the door behind me and waved goodbye, stepping up to Tanner's front door. I could tell I was pretty early because only two cars were here; Emery's and Tanners. Before I let a series of knocks out, Emery swung open the door, holding a red-solo-cup with what smelled of alcohol in it. She had a groggy look on her face, smiling sheepishly. What a light drinker.

"Red solo cUp, dun dun. You fill me up! Let's have a party!" I shook my head, stepping inside. To my surprise, there were a lot of people there already. Maybe they had just walked? Hm. Tanner came around the corner smirking. I narrowed my eyes at him, crossing my arms.

"How much alcohol did you put in her cup?" I barked, stomping my foot. He threw an arm over my shoulder and grinned toothily.

"Love, it is not the amount of alcohol you put in a cup, but how strong it is. And in my opinion, vodka is very strong. Which only makes my chances with your extremely attractive friend much higher." He winked. I about went head over heels with anger, throwing his arm off of me.

"Do not even lay a finger on her, Tanner! I will rip off your balls. Just rip em off. Right off." I growled. He looked offended, cowering down next to Emery.

"Okay..that was highly aggressive.." He gulped. I smiled, finding my way through the people and towards the couch, but it was currently being occupied by a few lovesick teenagers. Gross. I went to the kitchen and sighed with relief that it had not been taken over completely. There were some football players scavenging the cupboards looking for food, and others searching the fridge for beer, which was orderly set out on the dining room table.

"Avalon, right?" A deep, husky voice purred from behind me. It wasn't as hot as Alec's, but pretty damn close, in my opinion. I turned around and was surprised to what I had seen. Or in other words, whom I had seen.

"Uh huh." I smiled, nearly holding my breath.

"You may already know me, but I am Chase. Chase Parker." Chase grinned, holding out his arm. I leaned back against the counter and took in the moment. I did not know him very well, but enough to know that he was a legend. Like Alec, Chase was a bad boy. Bad boy King. It was not his looks, mainly because Alec owned that title, but his actions. He was easily the devilish of them all. He was kicked out of West-Field high for reasons I am not supposed to speak of, and probably won't any time soon. But he was a mean machine to sum it up entirely. "You are Alec's girl, right?" He smirked. I shook my head quickly, laughing.

"No, no. I am just staying with him for a while. My parents are on vacation." My voice was awkward as I spoke, but he just nodded, looking down at me.

"Hmm. I suppose I will get you all to myself, then." He grinned menacingly. I felt my heart pound, and my skin begin to tingle.

"Not anytime soon, Parker." Alec growled, pulling me aside protectively. I felt like a teddy bear between two children, being tugged back and forth.

"Who says?" Chase retorted, that smile still playing on his lips. He took hold of my wrist while Alec clung to my arm.

"Me." I answered sternly, yanking myself away from them and pacing back into the crowd. More people had arrived, now, making it almost impossible for me to find Emery. I pushed aside everyone nervously, only ending up slamming directly into someone else and falling to the ground. Oh shit. I grumbled, hearing a line of curses being repeated align. My vision was a tad bit blurry, but I could tell it was a familiar face. Almost too familiar.

"Are you fucking blind?" The feminine voice screeched. I rubbed my eyes, looking up and nearly collapsing. No.Way.

"I-I'm sorry, Kira." I stuttered, my breaths slowing.

"Do we know each other or something?" She asked, even though it was more demanding than questionable. I suppressed a soft chuckle and shook my head, standing up. As I stood, I felt two hands clasp onto my waist tightly.

"What the fuck are you doing down..there.." Alec asked, his voice softening as his eyes rested on Kira. She stood as well and cracked a smile. Alec quickly took his hands away from me and cleared his throat, looking at me quickly as if he were trying to figure out what to do. I sighed, feeling my blood begin to freeze.

"I will leave you two alone." I smiled, meeting gaze with Alec. He arched an eyebrow and whispered something under his breath I could not quite understand. I looked back over at Kira and forced a sad smile, knowing that it was over. I was never going to have even the slightest chance, not anymore, at least. And it is my fault.
