"Everywhere I go I see your smile, I wish I could see yours once in a while."

Part Two

_

"That was awesome, Tate." Emery said as we began walking. He grinned, looking over at me. I was staring down at my feet with a blank expression, not really sure what to say about Alec. I was confused and scared and I didn't know what to say or do. Tate nudged my side, making me look up at him with a soft smile.

"Hey," He smiled, the lines on his cheekbones lifting on each side. "What's the matter?" Concern was evident in his face, but I just shrugged and looked to my side. I wasn't completely sure.

Emery squealed sharply, making all three of us stop. We looked over at her. "Cotton candy, I want some. Tannneerrr." She whined, clinging onto his side and bouncing upwards with a pleading smile. He shook his head and drug her towards the small concession.

"They're cute." Tate said, smiling. I nodded in agreement and held the Giraffe close. He looked back down at me and sighed. "Avalon, please tell me what's wrong. I like you better when you are smiling." My eyes reached my feet again. "I may not be the best advice giver, but I can promise you that I will listen."

"Take me on that Ferris Wheel?" I asked, glancing upwards at him. He smiled and nodded, looking around for Emery and Tanner. They were just returning with a large pink cloud of cotton candy. Emery met my side and smiled cheekily, biting a big piece from the sugary mess. It left a dark pink ring from where her mouth was. Tanner gasped, pointing with his mouth wide open.

"You." He spoke in a high pitched tone, soon replacing his hand over his heart. Emery smirked.

"Ya want some?" She teased, waving it in front of his face with an eyebrow lifted. He smirked in return and took a bite exactly where she did. Emery's face contorted with disgust, her eyes glaring at him hard.

Tanner licked his lips. "Just like kissing." Tate chuckled, stealing a dry piece from the opposite side and tossing it in his mouth. Both of them gave him a look.

"We are going to the Ferris Wheel, do you want to come?" He asked. They both shook their head yes and began to walk.

Blake tapped my shoulder, causing me to turn towards him. "Mind if we come?" He asked, motioning towards him and Alec. I glanced over at Alec and slowly began to nod, a smile painting it's way on my face. We all walked to the Ferris Wheel and gathered inside the small baskets. Tanner and Emery were first. As the next one came around, Tate held the door open and directed me inside, taking a seat next to me with a smile.

"So, what's wrong? We have a whole ten minutes to talk by ourselves." I chuckled, smiling. I took a soft breath and looked up as we began to lift towards the top, the whole fairgrounds expanding.

"When you beat Alec, I went and asked him if he was okay." I said, looking at Tate. "He said he missed me and then I looked at you and.." My eyes closed, I could feel my heart thumping against my chest. "I couldn't say anything else, because I finally feel like I woke up and realized that maybe I do miss him too but I can't figure that out because I am so, so confused and I just do not know what I want anymore because—" He placed his fingertips against my cheeks and looked at me, his eyes soft and so easy to stare into. I couldn't breathe. A lump had formed in the center of my throat.

"Because, what?" He whispered softly, his breath against my skin causing every particle in my body to tingle.

I blinked and opened my mouth. "You." I choked. He grinned the slightest bit and leaned in, his lips pressing against mine softly. I didn't know what I was doing, I didn't know how many people were staring at me. I didn't know what Alec was doing. Alec. I pulled away, forcing my gaze downwards. "That," I mumbled, shaking my head. "That was not supposed to happen, Tate."

He sighed and looked over at me. "I know, I'm sorry." He spoke. I glanced over my shoulder at the basket behind us and instantly hated myself at what I saw. Alec sat staring with such a hatred in his eyes, I began to shake. I could tell he no longer missed me and I missed him. Blake was sitting there with a frown, basically questioning everything I had ever said to him.

"I need to get off of this thing." I stammered, my voice a low tremble. We had reached the bottom again and the Ferris wheel stopped, starting with Emery and Tanner. They both hopped out. When ours reached the bottom, I hurried out of the cart and ran over to Emery. She looked shocked. "Tate kissed me and Alec is pissed, help."

Her eyes went wide. "He what?" I shook my head, looking over at Tate as he was walking towards the drink stand. Alec and Blake had already got out, and Blake was wrestling Alec back, but Alec managed to pull back and shove him off of his torso. He then took long glides towards Tate and groped his shoulder aggressively, whirling him around to face him and slamming his fist up against his jaw.

"Alec!" I screamed, my hands cupping over my mouth in horror as Tate stumbled backwards. Tanner cursed beneath his breath and raced towards Alec, grabbing him by his collar and pulling him backwards, but Alec fueled the fire by slicing his fist against his mouth, causing Tanner to fall to his back. Alec took slow steps back to Tate and shoved his fist forwards as hard as possible. I was crying and I couldn't seem to move. "Stop." I repeated several times, shaking my head. Emery had raced to Tanner. Meanwhile, Tate was getting the sense knocked out of him.

I took a breath and blinked, forcing myself to Alec and standing merely five feet away from him. Someone I didn't recognize anymore. "Please, stop." I said softly, watching as Alec clenched his jaw tightly. He arose back to his feet and looked at me with bloodshot eyes, shaking his head.

"What hurts the most, is that I would have chosen you over anyone or anything." He spoke, his voice low and hurt. I frowned and took a step towards him, my eyes hard on his.

"Alec, go home." I stated, slipping past him and to Tate's aid. His face was bloody, but he wasn't as bad as I was dreading. He held his hands over his nose and groaned, looking up at me. "I'm so sorry, Tate. Can you sit up?" He nodded and lifted himself upwards. I carefully placed my hand on his arm and helped him to his feet. Blake and Alec were gone, so I figured they had left. "Em, is Tanner okay?" I asked. She looked up at me and sighed.

"He was hit hard, but I think he's okay." Tanner smiled and placed his hand on the side of her cheek, looking at her with the most amazing look I've ever seen.

Tanner brushed his finger gently over her jawbone. "Of course I am okay, Em. Now help me up." She chuckled and grabbed him by his hand, tugging him to his feet and wrapping her arms around his stomach, sighing into his chest.

"Avalon, can we go?" Tate asked, chuckling shakily. I smiled and nodded.

"Yeah, we can go."
