Why?

Chapter 29

POV: Oliver
My time was up, the five days have gone by fast like the blink of an eye, and Felicity is now leaving team arrow. To end this journey this chapter, the one that I wished would never end, I have planned a little dinner, for our team. It will only be the original three though, Felicity, Diggle and I. Macy can't come because she has some family thing, I think her parents have finally noticed how distant she is from them and have possibly realized that she may know of their crimes. And Roy can not come because he is running the Club and decided he should make an appearance for once, which I should consider doing at QC. I have invited them over to the queen mansion, where only I now live.

It will be nice to have people over for once, with my mom, Thea and Walter all gone the halls are empty and I that I really use is my room. The house is filled with memories and old ghosts that rush back to me when I'm here, which is generally a few hours at night.

I finish putting everything into the oven then go up stairs to my bed room to put on a button up shirt and nice pants, when I hear the door bell ring. I go down answer the door to find Felicity there in her wheel chair, and see Diggle driving away.

"Hi" I say hugging her

"Hey" she says sweetly

"Where's Dig?" I ask

"Oh, um something came up with Lyla, he can't come" she says, something tells me that that's not the truth and that Dig didn't come for a reason other than that.

We go to the dining room that once had a long giant table but now has a small one that only fills a portion of the room. We begin eating dinner in silence, Felicity looks down at her plate picking at her food as I watch her. She has hair tied back in its usual ponytail, and she has a simple blue and black patterned dress that brings out he blue eyes, peeking from behind her black rimmed glasses.

I finally decided to break the ice "Do you like the food? Not cold or anything right?" I ask

"It's really good, do you still have the same cook?" she asks

"Oh, no we let go of our house staff after my mother died, we gave salary for another year and recommend them to other rich families we know" I say

"So take out then?" She says

"No I made it" I say

"No, I don't believe you, I highly doubt you took a cooking class at any of the 5 colleges you dropped
Out of" she says

"It was only four, and you are right I did not, but, growing up before my young adult and adult years, I would always hang around the kitchen and Lucia taught a few things. That and youtube, which has been a great help with getting caught up on what I missed over the five years I was gone," I say and Felicity shakes her head, impressed.

"Oliver Jonas Queen, playboy, millionaire, CEO by day. Vigilante and chef by night." she says with a quirky smile, and I laugh.

"Oh, Fel-ic-ity Megan Smoak, I'm going to miss you being around" I say and Felicity grows quiet again

"Hey, what's wrong?" I ask concerned

"I don't know, I just, I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing. I mean I have this voice in the back of my head telling me to change my mind and another one telling me to get as far as I can away from here. I just have so much I want to do in life and although helping the arrow has let me done so much, it's also from stopping me from doing so much. I mean sure I never in a thousand year would I ever, EVER imagine my self here, I actually have a very vivid imagination, but I did not imagine myself here." She babbles

"It's ok Fel-ic-ity, how about I put these dishes in the kitchen and then we go in the other room and talk" I say and she nods.

Once I putting the dishes in the kitchen I pour two cups of coffee and go meet Felicity in the living room.

I sit next to her on the couch and put the coffee on the table in front of us.

"What all out of wine, which you owe me a bottle off by the way from one of the first times I helped you. what was your horrible excuse then, again?" She asks

"It was a friends scavenger hunt, and You are right I still do owe you a bottle" I say

"So what do I do?" She asks me

"You know this past week I have been trying to come up with ways to convince you to stay and all this stuff, but what I have come to realize is that it's your life and your decisions, I can't make you do anything nor do I want to. It is your decision and true fully I don't think you can make a wrong one, because I think no matter what you will end up where you are supposed to be." I say

"But what if I do" she says looking up into my eyes.

"Then you do, life goes on. we all make mistakes and the wrong decisions, some more than others, and some of them are life changing or threatening, but this one isn't. And Felicity if I have learned anything about you, its that you are an amazingly smart, beautiful and remarkable person and you will make the right one. Its all up to you"

Felicity leans into me, resting her head on my chest and I put my arm around her, and gently rub rub her arm with my thumb reassuring her.

After a while Felicity finally speaks "I'm going to stick to my decision and stop working with team arrow....I'm sorry."

"Don't be, its up to you. Just remember I'm not breaking my promise, I'm not leaving you, I will always be here for you, Fel-ic-ity. I would never break a promise I made to my girl" I say

Me and Felicity sit in the couch together talking for a while then watch a movie, which we both fall asleep during.

I wake up and look at my phone to see that it's 1 in the morning, Felicity lays on the couch next to me fast asleep, with her arms wrapped around me. I slowly get up out from underneath her and scoop her up carrying her to my car. She wakes up in the process but fall back asleep once she realizes I'm carrying her.

I driver her home to her house and bring her to her room, I leave while she changed into her pjs still half asleep and return to see her laying in bed under her covers, already dosing off again.

I lean down to her and whisper her name "Felicity"

"Yea" she mumbles

"First off, Thank you for everything" I say softly and she just nods her head, eyes closed.

I then gently take out a small jewelry box and take out a necklace from it. The necklace is a small arrow head with a green jewel in the center, on the back its smooth and has and engraving that reads 'you will always be my girl'. I clip the necklace around Felicity's neck careful not to wake her up then gently Kiss her on the cheek.

"Second of all, I will always love you" I say as I begin to walk away
