Change

Have you ever eaten something too much that you can't eat it anymore? Have you ever seen someone too much that you are sick of the sight of them? Well that's what is happening to me and New York.

I've lived in New York for most of my life. I've walked past Central Park every single day. I've brought coffee from the same coffee shop every single day. I've brought clothes from the same shops every single day and it's getting boring.

I need a change so that is why I am moving to London.

London where the weather is always cold, London where you have scones with the Queen, London where I will be.

Who knows one of you may meet me but you won't know it's me of course but you never know I might reveal myself one day (doubt it but still)

Goodbye my lovelies see you in London

"This was it"'

I whispered to myself as I closed the screen of my laptop down. I stood up off of my bed and looked around the room of where I have stayed for 7 and a half years.

Brown boxes scattered the room and my walls were bare from where all my Polaroid pictures had been. I placed my laptop into my bag alongside with my camera and carried it downstairs where my mom was standing waiting for me. My suitcases were standing by the door and my mom was going to get the rest of my stuff shipped over.

"Goodbye Mom"

I said pulling her into a hug. She kissed the top of my head and whispered

"I'm going to miss you so much"

It was hard leaving my mom as I was an only child and I was moving halfway across the world and leaving her all by herself. My Dad had left me when I was only young so it was just me and mom during the years I had grown up. We are very close and not being able to see her every day was going to be very weird and hard.

I saw a few tears drip down her face as she released me from the hug.

"Mum stop crying because otherwise, you're going to start me off"

I said wiping the tears that had already escaped my eyes. She tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear and kissed me on the cheek before letting me leave.

"Promise to call me as soon as you get there and every day after that"

She laughed

"I promise mom"

I said flashing her a small smile. I walked over to the door and grabbed my suitcases which were standing by the door. I took hold of the slippery door handle (which I can never open) and attempted to open the door. I failed. I swear the door has it out for me. Mom took hold of the handle and opened the door without any struggle.

"7 years you've lived here and you still can't open the damn door"

She chuckled.

"Bye mom"

I whispered looking up at her.

"Bye Livvy"

Mom whispered back. Mom always called me Livvy instead of Olivia as she said and I quote "Olivia is too long". I know it doesn't make sense if she thought it was too long then why did she call me it? That's the thing about mom she gets obsessed with things and then she goes off of them within a matter of days sometimes months. It was the same with my name, she loved it so she called me it but slowly it started to get a bit on her nerves so she changed it up a bit so she wouldn't always have to hear Olivia. Weird I know.
