Happiness

Happiness the state of being happy. Happy a feeling of showing pleasure or contentment. Happy a feeling of joy. Joy a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. Pleasure a feeling of happy satisfaction and enjoyment. Enjoyment the state or process of taking pleasure in something.

Those words all mean the same thing however they could not be so different from each other. I got asked the other day what makes me happy. My answer was I'm not sure. There's so many things to choose from. The obvious answer is friends and family. They make you happy, you can always rely on them no matter what.

Happiness is a very personal thing. We all find joy in many different things, we are not all the same. I find happiness in music and writing and dance and even really warm cosy oversized sweatshirts. However you may find happiness in sports or science or food. We are all so different and the meaning of happiness is different to each and everyone of us.

Happiness isn't just about the big things in life it's also about the small things like kindness how I get happy if someone is polite to me saying please and thank you or if someone was to hold a door open for me. It's all the small things in life that we need to be grateful for, blessed to have because their something that makes us smile (not all of us but most of us).

The question what makes you happy is far more complex than it seems. There is so much that makes us as individuals happy. It's impossible to give a short reply. Once I got asked that question, that night I thought about in depth about what really made me happy. The answer to the question was everything. Everything makes me happy. Life itself makes me happy.

I want you to think what makes you happy and what really makes you happy. They're two completely different questions with two completely different answers. What makes you happy?

'Happiness is a little bubble of joy where we can be ourselves and forget about the world'

I closed my laptop down after reading the positive reply on the blog post I uploaded last night. I know I said I was taking a break from the whole blogging but when I have something to say I cannot not write about it. Last night I couldn't sleep and I do that thing where you just think about everything and anything and that's where most of my blog ideas come from. It's nothing special just little things that have been bothering me or when I have something to say.

Today I was meeting up with Chai and were were going to go out for lunch and then maybe go bowling or go to see a film afterwards. We were meeting outside of Nando's at about 1, it was currently quarter to 1 and I was still sitting on my bed in my pyjamas. I knew I had to get up soon because otherwise I was going to be late and I hate being late. I reluctantly got off of my bed and into the shower. I washed my body but no my hair as I couldn't be bothered to stand and dry it. I know lazy. I got changed into a massive grey sweatshirt which said in a corner 'I'm like 104% tired' with a pair of leggings. I pulled on a pair of trainers and tied my hair up into a bun. I couldn't really be asked to do my makeup however I just whacked on a few coats of mascara.

I grabbed my bag and my phone and made my way upstairs. My house was a mess, downstairs was fine but upstairs was an absolute mess. Clothes, water bottles and empty food packets were all scattered across the room. It needed tidying up as soon as I got back. But now I didn't have the time. I locked my door and started walking down to the nearest Nando's where Chai and I had agreed to meet.

BY the time I got there I was two minutes early. Result. I walked into the building and looked around to see if Chai was already here and seated but he wasn't.
