Chapter 54

Olivia's Pov

"No Joe that one is too big"

"And that one is too small"

I said commenting on the two trees Joe had picked out. As Joe promised we were Christmas tree shopping and so far I hadn't found a single one that I liked. This would be the first Christmas away from my mum which is weird because every year we go and get our Christmas trees together and we decorate it and then we go to times square and watch the lights being turned on and it's just so special. And now I'm doing it with someone else. It's weird

We continued looking around all of the trees not finding one that suited my needs. Joe wasn't getting one as he thinks he's going to spend more time at my apartment than his as Caspar is away in South Africa. He feels like me getting a Christmas tree is enough.

"Joe what about this one"

I said picking up one of the trees nearer the back.

"Yeah that ones okay"

"I think this is the one"

I replied holding the tree us straight so I could get a better look at it.

"Okay then are you sure because once we've brought it you can't change your mind"

"I'm positive"

"Okay let's buy the tree"

Joe took the tree off of me and started to carry it over to the checkout. Before hand we had picked up a few Ornaments for the tree as well as some lights  so we wouldn't have to do that afterwards with Joe logging the tree around. I followed Joe over to the checkout and once the man had scanned through all the items I payed.

As I made my way out I could see Joe in the distance wrapping the rope round the tree securing it to the top of my car. As I reached the car I placed the bags of decorations into the boot.

"Do you need any help with that"

I asked shutting the door

"Nope I'm all good, I just need to tie this knot"

Joe replied before shortly getting down

"Come on lets get this tree home"

Joe had driven my car on the way here and I was going to drive it back. I hadn't driven in so long so it felt weird to be sitting in the drivers seat.

"Ok since I'm driving your in charge of the music but I don't want anything other than Christmas related, you got it"

I said starting to pull out of the parking space

"Got it"

Out of the corner of my eye I could see Joe scrolling down his phone obviously looking for a song to play. I saw him smirk and place the phone down. All of a sudden the music started playing and I immediately knew who it was. I'm a dedicated fan.

I started swaying to the rhythm of the music and I could hear Joe laughing

It's the most beautiful time of the year

Lights fill the streets bringing so much cheer

I should be playing in the winter snow

But I'mma be under the mistletoe

With you, shawty with you

"This is literally my favourite christmas song!!"

Joe laughed. I sung my heart out throughout the whole car journey, enjoying the festive mood. When we arrived back the complex, we got out the car and started to untie the rope so we could bring the tree down.
