After my 8 hour shift, I got off and got in my car. Before I knew it I pulled up to the house that I have grown to know so well over the past couple of years. I parked my car and headed inside using my key. As soon as I walked in I heard the regular family fighting and smelled food. I made my way to the kitchen and kissed Ma on her cheek.
"Girl I'm glad you made it over. Riz and em killing me"
"Well that's your child ma. I don't know how you dealt with him but I see why you only had him"
We both laughed and I went to set the table.
If you guessed it right Yes I am at Riz mother house. What happened was that my mom had passed my first week into my 2nd year of college. I was at work when I got the call. As I was walking out I bumped into him. He grabbed me took me to my house.He packed a bag for me, took me tot he airport brought my ticket and went home with me. He stayed by my side through the whole thing. When thanksgiving came he showed up at my dorm and made me go to his mom house. He did that for every holiday and break that I had.
By the time school was ending, I didn't want to go to my dad's, so she just took me in. I'm thankful that he was there.
I finish setting the table then I went and washed my face since I had started to cry. When I came out I had bumped into Ray.
"Lil homie what you doing here?" He asked
"Oh good ya met already" Ma had said
"Yea Ma, this Riz homie. Why she here?" Ray asked
I looked at Ray and took in his features. It seemed like time stood still when I had realized that Ray was Riz little brother. I don't know why I didn't realize it before
"Yes Sasi, they are brothers. Ray she lives here" Ma replied
"Oh so she the one that I would always miss?" Ray asked
"Yea now let's eat and treat my baby nice Ray" Ma said
"You mean for her to be nice to me. I mean her name is Sassy"
We laughed and then I tripped him.
Riz walked out his old room and shook his head at us.
"Ya can't tell anyone ya related to me" Riz told us
"No one wants to claim you" I said
Ray laughed and we followed Ma into the dinning room. We sat down and had a family dinner
