Was it Worth it?

Just a regular Day

I woke up and looked around my room. It looked so empty because I packed my stuff away and had them at Ma house. I got out of my bed and my door flew opened. 

"Happy Birthday and Graduation Day" Everyone shouted. I was then tackled to the ground by all of their hugs. We all started laughing. 

They got off of me and I went and got ready. I took a long hot shower and just thought about everything that I went through. My parents wouldn't be here physically but they are still with me. No one knows that I applied to Graduate School and got into all 8 of my choices. It all just depends on where I want to see myself.  I'm sure that I don't want to stay in New York anymore.

I got out and got ready. We all went out to breakfast. It was about 15 plus of us.  Ma, Riz, Ray, Meechie, my grandmother, Ty mother, and Ty, Syn and Q, Nyla, Melly, Jai, Chas, Bray, Tavon, and some other people and my self. 

We ate and then went back home to get ready for our graduation. I came home to so any gifts in my living room. Nyla ended up helping me get dressed. Q stayed with me while Syn went to go do something. 

Before I knew it, it was time for me to leave to get the place. Syn still hadn't came back so Q got in the car with me. Nyla tried to call Syn but nothing happened. 

"Maybe she is running late" Nyla said

"Just maybe" I turned the music up a little and went back to driving. 5 minutes later I parked the car and went inside. Nyla was right behind me with Q. I kissed him on his cheek and he smiled. Nyla gave me a hopeful look and I went into the room where all the other Graduates were. 

I prayed while I sat in my seat and while I waited on the side of the stage to walk across. My name was called and I was so happy. I had tuned everything else out. I made it across the stage and waited for my boos Losi, Kesi, and Mia. Those were the ones that got me through all my classes, since I had every class with them from day 1. 

Once graduation was over. We took pictures and I was happy. I noticed that Syn wasn't around so I took Q from Nyla. I realized he had a piece of paper in his pocket. I took it out and read it

Dear Sasila,

I love you bestfriend and you may hate me but I know you will care for him. I'm sorry, at this time I am unable to care for him. I know that I do not have to worry about anything. All of his things are in your room and I left some money. By the time you read this, my mother should know too. 

Syn.

I wiped the tear from my eye and I looked at Q. I whispered in his ear, It's just us now and I'm sorry. I put on a fake smile and put the paper in my bag. I joined everyone and we went out to eat. 

Afterwards everyone wanted to keep partying but I knew, I had to get Q home. Nyla came back with me while everyone stayed out.

"Sasi what's going on?"

"She left him. She left me to take care of Q"

"You lying right"

"No Nyla. I have a child to take care of"

"Why does your life have to stop because of her"

"My life isn't stopping. But now you see what I was talking about"

I laid Q down in his playpen and covered him up. I walked back out in the living room with Nyla.

She was taking shots

"How do you do that to someone"

"That's life Ny. It's not yours"

I finally checked my phone and called Syn mother. I put her on speaker phone

"Sasi happy birthday baby and I'm sorry"

"It's fine"

"No it is not. That's her responsibility and she just dropped him off on you like that on your day. I don't know where I went wrong raising her. I am not sure how I'm going to raise a newborn by myself"

"Ma it's fine. I'll raise Q. That's what she wanted me to do anyways."

"No Sasi, you have your own life to live."

"No Ma, he is apart of me and I couldn't do that to you. I wasn't there when they made him but I was around for most of it. I was there when he came out. I was the one that cut the cord. Q is my baby too"

"You are right. I guess that is why she gave him your last name. But if you need help, let me know"

"I will Ma."

I hung up and Nyla just shook her head.

"I guess we have a baby to raise." Nyla said

"I guess we really do" Ray said

I turned around and looked at him 

"Oh Ny let me in when you was on the phone"

I just looked at him. He came over and kissed my forehead and held me. Ny joined in on the hug.

"We now have a child" She screamed. 

Q started crying. Ray went and checked on him

"I'm sorry" She said while laughing. I ended up pouring out the rest of the liquor and putting her in my bed. 

I ended up on the  blow up mattress with Ray and Q. I went to sleep with a smile on my face.       

Guess it was worth it
