Chapter 2

Dawn's POV

Dawn left Sky alone to procrastinate. She was picking up speed in anger, and she found herself running through the halls of the Sky Army base.

"Stupid, stupid Sky. Why doesn't he want to help his friend?" she mumbled to herself.

She was so frustrated she ran directly into a recruit, knocking her over. The papers in her hands flew across the hall.

"Hey- watch where you're going!" the recruit shouted.

"I'm sorry- it just that Sky is being a douche." Dawn said as she began to help the recruit pick up the papers.

"Oh- Dawn- it's you! Sorry for how I just talked to you, it's nothing."

"No, I'm really sorry. I wasn't paying attention."

The recruit's name was Jasmine, and she had long black hair. Her eyes were green, and she wore a pair of blue, rectangular glasses.

"Hey- you're name's Jasmine, isn't it? I recognize you from the potions research lab."

"Yeah. Right now we are trying to create a potion that only damages squids, but heals humans. It's really progressing, we just need to make the damage part a little stronger."

"Oh. Okay. Is that what these papers are for?"

"No, just delivering it to the bow-making department. Someone complained about the strings not being flexible enough- can you believe it?"

"That's ridiculous! And a little funny."

"So- what did General Sky do that made you so annoyed?

"Well, don't tell anyone yet, I don't want them to worry. But- uh- Deadlox has been missing for a while, and Sky doesn't want to do anything about it."

"That's terrible! But- Sky and him are such good friends!"

"That's what i said! Wait- do you have a pen? I need to write something."

Jasmine handed Dawn a pen, and she began to write a quick note.

Jason-

Deadlox is missing, Sky told me to alert you. He doesn't want to do anything about it, please think about what we can do and meet me in my room when you get the chance. If I'm not there, just leave me a note. We need to talk about this.

Dawn handed the note and the pen hastily to Jasmine.

"When you get the chance, deliver that to Jason! You know where he is- head of the training group, right next to the bow- making place. I have to do something really important!"

Dawn took off in the direction she first came from, leaving Jasmine very confused in the hall. She had only one thought on her mind-

"If Sky won't save Deadlox, then I will."
