Sky's POV

"D- Dawn?" Sky moaned, getting to his feet. "Dawn!"

He looked around the forest once his vision became clear. Jason was on the ground, just beginning to stir. Blood stained the grass a terrifying red, and Sky found that his head hurt incredibly.

"What happened?" he mumbled to himself, before resuming in calling for Dawn. "Dawn! Where are you?"

He began to walk around, searching in the area for any sign of his fiancé. Everywhere he stepped the ground was an unnatural deep crimson.

"Sky?" Jason mumbled in the distance. "Sky, are you there?"

"Jason!" Sky exclaimed, walking within his sight. "I'm here, are you okay?"

Jason groaned as he got to his feet. "Yeah, I'm fine," he said. "But where's Dawn? And Ryan and Jasmine? I can't remember anything."

Sky swallowed nervously. "Neither can I," he said.

"What the hell happened here?" Jason said, eyeing the bloodstained grass suspiciously. Do you have any idea what happened last night?"

"It seems like it was years ago," Sky said, resting his head in is hands. "All I can think of is that we heard Jasmine scream, Dawn ran off and then we saw..." Sky trailed off in horror as memories came flooding back. "DAWNABLES!" he shouted yet again, but this time with a desperate edge to his voice. It could not be true, it just couldn't, he was just a myth...

"Sky? What is it?" Jason shouted, chasing him as he ran off. But he barely heard him. Sky could hear his heart pounding in his ears, and his breathing was short. He just had to find Dawn.

He dashed around, not leaving a single rock uncovered or bush not searched. His mind filled with the possibilities of what could have happened to her... but he didn't want to think about that.

"SKY!" Jason's calling finally got through to him. "I found Ryan, but he's injured!"

Once again, Sky turned around and ran towards Jason. He didn't want to admit it, but at the moment he pretty much only cared about finding Dawn. If Ryan was still breathing, that was good enough for him. But as the general of Sky Army, he had to express good leadership, and he kneeled beside Jason.

Sky frowned at what lay before him, but he was void of any emotion. Ryan was breathing, but it was shaky and he was very pale. Probably from blood loss.

"Give him something to eat," Sky said flatly, and he got up. Jason looked back at him sadly, but obeyed him and took out some cooked chicken.

Sky's mind was set on finding Dawn. After seeing Ryan, a panic was rising within him. What if Dawn was in the same condition? he thought. What if she was worse? What if-

Sky stopped in his tracks as a bright yellow flash of light caught him in the eye. His gaze whipped around, trying to find the source. At last his line of sight came to rest on a small piece of butter, which was surrounding a small amethyst. It was an amulet, identical to the one he currently wore on his neck...

He broke into a dead sprint towards it. It was right next to a large tree, and common sense told him that what he was dreading- or hoping to see lay right behind it. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, bracing for the impact of what he might see. He hesitated, then sidestepped around the tree and opened his eyes.

Dawn was laying on her side, facing away from him, her items strewn everywhere. Sky was relieved to see the rise and fall of her chest but... something was wrong. She was breathing too slowly. And there was an expanding pool blood around her.

Sky quietly crept towards her. "Dawn?" he whispered, praying for a response.

She stirred a bit, lifted her head, but quickly let it fall back to the ground with a shaky exhale. Sky ran to her side and turned her over gently, just to recoil back in shock with a gasp. He felt hot tears beginning to form in his eyes.

Jason's POV

Ryan was beginning to get up, and he looked healthy enough, just a bit shocked. He would recover in a few hours. Now it was time to find Sky.

He ran through the forest, and after a bit he heard muffled sobs. "Sky!" he shouted, but there was no response.

Jason walked around a tree, and the volume of the crying increased a bit. It sounded very much like Sky. "SKY! Did you find-" Jason stopped short at what he saw. Sky kneeled on the ground, his knees damp in the dark red pool that slowly spread around him. His face was buried in a girl's chest. Jason quickly identified her as Dawn. But why wasn't she moving?

Jason slowly began to approach his hysterical friend. His feet reached the beginning of the pool of blood, and he stopped. At last, it struck him. He reluctantly glanced at Dawn, and he felt nauseous at the sight before him. A black handle was embedded deep in the center of her chest, and blood flowed out of the wound without stopping. She was extremely pale, but somehow still alive.

"D- Dawn," Sky stammered. "Please don't die... I love you..."

A weak female voice replied faintly. "I- love you- too, Sky. Don't worry... I'll always be here... for.... you."

"Dawn.... DON"T LEAVE ME!" But Sky's fiancé was oblivious to his protests, nothing more than a memory. Dawn was somewhere else now.

Sky lifted his tear-stained face from her chest. In mere seconds, his expression changed from one of grief to blazing anger. "Jason..." Sky whispered, his voice shaking with rage. "Get me my sword. I swear I'll kill him. I'LL KILL HIM!"
