Brook
"You are not doing it right! Here let me do it."
"Fine." I see Jess come into the hallway.
"Brook! Are you feeling okay?" She holds my hands while she talks on and on trying to catch my eyes but I keep them glued to the floor.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" I ask finaly looking at her.
"Well when I left you were talking in your sleep." Her eyes flicker to Jack.
"Oh god what was I saying?" I look at Jack whos cheeks have turned red.
"Oh nothing, just puppies and unicorns and stuff." Jack tries to hold back a smile.
"Ugh." I walk into the kitchen ignoring the two red faces in the hall. "Wow who are we making this buffet for?" All the counters in the huge kitchen are almost filled with different kids of grilled foods and desserts.
"We are having a party for the band finishing tour." Jack puts his hands on my shoulders.
"Oh. Do you need help sis?" I try to look at the recipie book that she was cooking from but she takes it away.
"No. You look tired, I think you need to sleep before the party." I hate how she knows me so well.
"No, I am tired of taking naps." I cross my arms.
"I know but you have bags honey." She points under her eyes.
"Fine, but where do I go?" I squeeze Jacks hand hoping he will take me to where I am suppost to sleep.
"Oh I can take you, I have to talk to you anyway." Jess says from the door way
"Just into our room, I showed it to you." Jack tells Jess. "I guess I will do the womans job and help in the kitchen." He jokes.
Jess takes me up a flight of stairs and down another long hallway that leads to a set of double doors, inside is a ginormous fluffy bed that looks so inviting.
"Oh I have to show you something." I groan trying to reach for the bed as Jess walks me through a bathroom that has a variety of colored rocks plastered to the floor, I bet they feel good on your feet. Then at the back of the room are louvered doors, the doors become a walk in closet full of clothes. Jess runs in and sits on the purple blob shaped couch that rests in the middle of the floor as I run my hand across the different textures and colors, I honestly don't really look at the clothes closely but when I realise that its womens clothes I hear crying from the couch and it inturupts my train of thought. Jess has her head in her hands sobing softly. Siting next to her I take her into arms and play with her soft hair until she stops shaking.
"Whats wrong honey." I look into her now redish pink eyes.
"You know you would be the perfect mother, its not fair." She knows that I will probably go into early menopause but its still unknown because of my young age.
"Things happen for a reason I guess." I curse myself for giving her a generic response.
"Okay, but I don't think that I will be a good mother." She struggles with the words.
"What are you talking about? You would be a great mother, besides you have time before that happens." I try to comfort but her lip starts shaking again.
"I have about seven and a half months." She shrugs her shoulders.
"What?! Your only 21, what are you talking about you can't be pregnant, what about your school?" She stops me before I can ask anymore questions.
