She awoke to an empty house,
The loneliness making her shiver.
She fell over the bad things,
That killed her father's liver.
A note told her to eat by herself,
She had a hundred of those.
It makes her depressed,
But it never really shows.
The food is cold and tasteless,
The TV can't love or give a hug.
The noises the house makes are scary,
She feels small like a bug.
So she looks for attention elsewhere,
Going to the bad boy for love.
But she is only good for sex,
Only good to get rid of.
Heartbroken and pushed away,
She goes to drugs for consolation.
She runs away from the claws,
Of both real life and the hallucination.
The bags under her eyes get worse,
Every day her body gets thinner.
She uses the money on the table,
That was supposed to be for dinner.
Her parents didn't notice the wounds,
In the place where blood is taken.
They were never present,
And they were forever unshaken.
On 12th February 2011 her legs gave out,
At the same time her heart broke.
The drugs were not to blame,
Tell me, when is neglect a joke?
Her mother's tears fall on the coffin,
A hundred roses people are shedding,
The rose buds cover the ground,
They should have been for her wedding.
Instead of growing closer,
Her family falls apart.
They blame themselves,
For hurting their living art.
Kaylee suffers no longer,
But her suffering is never gone.
Because there are others,
Who are feeling so alone.
Beauty and heart is worthless,
When nobody is there to see it.
Please tell me honestly,
Are you aware of the sins you commit?
Kaylee is my lesson.
