For Someone Who Wasn't Around Long Enough

I love you, I care about you, you're beautiful,

Do you believe me when I say this to you?

"No, because no matter how many times you say it,

It doesn't make it true!"

I hate you, you are stupid, you're ugly,

Do you believe them when they say this to you?

No, because no matter how many times they say it,

It doesn't make it true!

They take this so far that you want to die,

Without even realizing the mental damage they cause.

Your best and most beautiful qualities,

They can change it and make you believe they're flaws.

When you take things in your own hands and die,

They don't believe it was their fault.

But guess what, baby, it is their and only their mistake.

Words aren't harmless, they are a mental assault.

How are they not murderers, tell me,

Because without touching they kill you every day.

And they can convince you what they say is the truth,

They make it so you don't get your own say.

They are monsters hidden behind a innocent mask,

But they are often excused because they are a teen.

They are among people and cause so much pain,

But they are hidden and stay left unseen.

That's why this is dedicated to everyone, dead and alive,

To the bullies and the silent bystanders who turn a blind eye.

Stop hurting and start helping, don't just look away,

Nobody should die this way, leaving us wondering why.

So dear hated bullies, don't you see what you do,

How come none of you understands?

Every time a bully victim dies a chosen death,

Their blood is on your hands!

So dear blind bystanders, don't you see what you do,

How come none of you is selfless enough to stand up?

Every day a bully victim dies a chosen death,

Because you decided it's better to shut up!

So dear ignorant parents, don't you see what you do,

How come none of you takes bullying seriously enough?

Every day sons and daughters die a chosen death,

Because your only advise was to be tough.

So dear dying or dead victims, don't you see what you do,

How come none of you sees the bullies are wrong?

Every day you die without crying out for help,

Because you think nobody would help you get strong.

So dear person reading this right now, don't you see,

That whatever others say you aren't, you are.

You are beautiful, whether you're overweight or gay,

So please don't ever let it come this far.

To my own having-known bully victim,

Now they see the beauty they say you never had.

You weren't ugly or stupid or weird or crazy,

And now I have only one more thing to add.

You never were.

Sleep tight, beautiful.
