The Guy In The Mirror

The guy in the mirror tells you that you're stupid,

He shows you all those things you lack.

He say's you're ugly or shows you his scars,

But if you should smile, he would smile back.

The guy in the mirror is always crying,

And if you touch his tears, they're always cold.

His eyes always have that distant look,

But he is just repeating what he's told.

If you say he's ugly,

He'll say the same.

And if you break the mirror,

You will lose your name.

The guy in the mirror is a person itself,

And sometimes it's as if he's different from you.

Even if you are smiling, he's still crying,

That's how the outside world sees it too.

The guy in the mirror is your true self,

But you're behaving like someone you're not.

There is a time where you merge with the mirror,

But that means you've finally been caught.

If you say he's beautiful,

He'll say the same to you.

If you love the guy in the mirror,

He will love you too.

You don't have to love yourself,

You only have to love the guy in the mirror.

Don't think of him as being you,

And things will get clearer.

If he can say you're beautiful,

It gets easier to say it to yourself.

This might confuse you right now,

But someday it will explain itself.

The mirror is you and is not you.
