I Can, For His Sake

I hurt when he hurts,

I cry when he does.

I break when he breaks,

Just because.

I can take away his pain,

Even when it means doubling my own.

His guilt and regrets, I can take,

For his sins I can atone.

I can dry his warm tears,

Even when it means crying my own.

His sadness and secrets, I can take,

For his loneliness I can be alone.

I can carry his mistakes,

Even when it means making my own.

His insecurities and anger, I can take,

For his issues I can be a stepping stone.

I can be his way out,

Even when it means closing off my own.

His secrets and fear, I can take,

For his life, I can cross the forbidden zone.

I can heal his soul,

Even when it means harming my own.

His wounds and shame, I can take,

For his future, I can step into the unknown.

I hurt when he hurts,

I cry when he does.

I break when he breaks,

Just because.

I love him more than my own life.
