Why Imperfections Are Perfection

You drool in your sleep, 

Sometimes you make puke sounds. 

You steal my blanket, 

And one of your eyebrows frowns. 

You're a zombie in the morning, 

A grumpy guy until noon. 

You never do your homework, 

Always saying "soon". 

You eat like a starving pig, 

You're always hungry late at night. 

Easily bored and irritating, 

At family parties a little uptight. 

Possessive and overprotective, 

Easily angry at people you don't know. 

You are obsessed with games, 

And hate my favorite vampire show. 

So, you will wonder why I love you, 

If I notice all your negative quirks. 

I will show you all the reasons, 

Why our love and life works. 

Because when you wake up, 

You put the blanket back over me. 

And you hurriedly wipe away the drool, 

so that you think I won't see. 

Because when you realize you're grumpy, 

You make sure to direct it towards others. 

And even though you never do your homework, 

You use it as excuse to keep away your brothers. 

Because when you are hungry at night, 

You always eat while watching me rest. 

And when there is a boring family party, 

You always invite me as your guest. 

Because even though you are possessive, 

You let me to my own thing and let me be free. 

And even though you hate the Vampire Diaries, 

You always watch it together with me. 

You see, even your negative things are good, 

And without those things you would not be you. 

So we change for each other but we also don't, 

Actually we stay the same all the way through. 

That is why we work.
