They say

They say,

Be a good kid.

If you're good,

It won't hurt a bit.

A secret so heavy,

It's pulling you under.

It's so fucking scary,

You won't fear thunder.

You're blamed, always,

You tempted them.

You pull the sheets up,

It's almost 2 a.m.

They say,

Hush, be still.

I won't hurt you,

But they will.

Food lost its taste,

Your eyes become hollow.

Nightmare haunt you,

They will always follow.

You want it to end,

Or else it'll be yours.

But you stay quiet,

Mom sleeps next doors.

They say,

Hush, it's alright.

Given a pillow,

For you to bite.

Oh, no, it's not pretty,

It eats away your choice.

When facing mom,

You lose your voice.

The shame too big,

Tears always present.

Locking the door,

Does not prevent.

They say,

You asked for it.

It's your fault,

So you handle it.

They call you a liar,

When you tell them.

You are all alone,

And it's already 2 a.m.

Hope shatters,

So does your life.

If they don't realise,

You won't survive.

They say,

You're used to it.

Stop crying,

You like it, just admit.

Family sides with them,

Call it an attention cry.

You stand there silently,

Wanting to die.

They call you a kid,

Because you're not 18.

But you're not a kid,

Not with all you've seen.

They say,

On your knees.

Don't struggle,

Do as I please.

You sit in your room,

Staring at the door.

It's 2 a.m again,

I can't do this anymore.

Nobody suspects,

And you don't speak.

They wouldn't believe,

Only give critique.

They say,

Shut your mouth.

Too bad for you,

You never pass out.

You try to end it,

By ending your life.

Too bad, though,

You survive.

You want to talk,

But you have no voice.

You want it to stop,

But it's not your choice.

They say.
