I was really surprised when they asked me to show "black" around town . I guess I'm the only one he would open up to .
-
"Sam ! I'm going to the hospital to visit black and then showing him around London!" I yell to Sam as I slip on my tennis shoes.
"Alright! Stay safe!" He yells back from the comfort of his chair and tv remote. I roll my eyes and laugh at his laziness. I snatch my purse off the hook at the front door and head out. It's about 10:30 so I decided that I would take black around town and then out to lunch.
Black. That's a weird name to want someone, or everyone to call you. But I guess it will have to work until he remembers his own name.
----------------
"Ready?" I say with a smile.
"As I'll ever be" black says with a half smile, he looks almost worried. Lets just start out by saying, he's gorgeous. His black hair flips to the side perfectly, his freckles line the ridge of his nose and down into his cheeks and some lost ones pop up in his forehead. His green eyes are mesmerizing. I could look at them all day. They're the perfect shade of green.
--
Black puts on his red sweatshirt and follows me out the door. I sign him out on the sheet of paper the nurse hands to me, then give it back with a smile. I open the big central doors for black and he walks through them. I lead him to my car and tell him to sit in the passenger seat. He looks at me confused so I open the door for him and then he gets in. I casually walk around the hummer to the other side, the open the drivers door and situate myself before turning the car on.
"So, I look familiar to you?" I say while digging for my keys in my purse. Black refuses to look me in the eyes when we talk.
"A little, I guess" he says to my shirt. I finally see my keys and put them into the dashboard.
"So, what kind of music do you like?" I said, immediately regretting it. What am I thinking?! He can't remember his name! How will he remember music?!
"Oh well, I don't really remember..." He says to my shoes.
"Alright we'll, Ill just play any music then" I say turning on m playlist. The song that comes up is Smile . I sigh. And turn it up trying not to let my emotions spill. I start remembering some things between me and Troy.
--
I finally come back to reality when I hear black humming the chorus to the song
"You make me smile like the sun, fall out of bed
Sing like a bird, dizzy in my head
Spin like a record, crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool, forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Oh, you make me smile."
I click the music off.
"You know this song?" I ask
"I-I don't know... It sounded familiar, so I just hummed what I thought came next..."
I lean back in my seat, stunned. That's weird.
-------
"And this is downtown London!" I say with a bright smile. Black smiles at the ground.
"Hungry?" I ask
"I guess" he says.
"Pick any place you want. On me" I smile. He stops and looks all around him. He glances at all the different restaurants. We walk a little more, then he stops dead in his tracks. He looks across the street. He points.
"There, that's where I wanna go."
I look up to where he's pointing to. It's Nandos.
Oh .
I just nod and help him cross the street. When we get there, the waitress walks us to a booth and I take the side farthest from the door. Black sits across from me.
"Do you remember anything?" I ask him
"Well, I want to remember... But I just can't see to. Every time I look into the mirror, the person I see doesn't look like the person I feel inside." He says to the table.
"Well, only time will tell." I smile and pick up a menu. I also hand one to black.
