Dan's P.O.V

~End of fourth period~

When the bell went i darted straight out of the class room and into the halls.

I was still annoyed at PJ and couldn't seem to get Phil out of my head so I decided on searching for him.

He should take my mind off of things.

I seen Darren cornering a small boy against the lockers and panicked, realizing who it most likely was.

Instantly, I ran over there and before he could get any closer to the boy I stood right in front of my Phil and protected him from the monster ahead of us.

"D-dan?" Phil stuttered out ,shocked, from behind me.

"Leave him alone Darren. I won't let you hurt him anymore." I spoke with confidence.

"Get out the way Dan. I don't want to have to hurt you." He said through gritted teeth and with a clenched fist.

"I wont let you hurt him." I repeated.

With that said he charged at us with anger in his eyes.

I shot him a smirk before dodging his hits and pushing Phil down to the ground to keep him from being struck.

The moment he stopped to take a breathe i attacked.

I pummeled him with punches and kicks until he was finally down.

"Will you leave Phil alone?" I asked, towering over him.

"Like I'd take orders from you." He spat to which he revived another kick to the side.

"If i see you lay as much as a finger on him one more time, trust me, It'll end up a lot worse than this." I threatened before turning around and helping Phil up and walking away with him.

"Why did you defend me? You didn't have to." He said with a sad, clueless look on his face.

"I don't like seeing my friends hurt. Especially not from trash like that." I growled annoyed from the thought of Darren and his 'gang'.

"Really. I'm your friend." He said excitedly, his face lighting up the entire room.

"Of course you are, I wouldn't be here with you now if i wasn't now would I?"

"Yeah, I guess." He said with the same beaming smile.

God, His smile is perfect.

No Dan, I've said this already, you can't think like that.

Your not gay.

"What you thinking about?" Phil said next to me, ending the argument inside my head.

"It's nothing, Do you wanna go for lunch?" I said changing the topic.

"Oh, yeah sure"

We walked in a comfortable silence for the rest of the way to the lunch hall.

"W-where do you want to sit?" He asked nervously and at that moment the room fell silent and all eyes looked towards us.

After a minuet or two of staring, I became angry and shouted "What are you all looking at, Is it that wrong for two friends to walk into a lunch hall?"

Still silence, and before i could have another outburst i grabbed Phils arm and said "come on Phil, Were leaving." and dragged us both outside .

"What was all that about?" I questioned.

"I don't know. It probably because your with me." He mumbled.

"Why should it matter who I'm with?"

"That's just how school is. There's no use in getting riled up over it."

"Yeah, I guess. Any idea on where we could spend lunch now?"

"yeah, one." He smirked before grabbing my hand and running off towards the wooded area seeming to have a location in mind.

After running through tree's for almost 3 minuets I turned to him and asked "Where are we going?"

"To my tree. It's not to far from here."

I guess this is were he's spent most of his lunch times.

A few seconds later he suddenly stopped just before a giant oak with branches spiring out everywhere creating a huge open space around it.

"Wow" was all i could say as i looked around.

"How did you find this pl-?"

"Phil?"

"Phil, where did you go?!" shouted as loud as i can before i heard a giggle come from above.

"Phil?" I questioned, looking up and sure enough he was there and really high up to.

"H-how?" I stuttered amazed at his climbing ability.

"How  what?" he questioned tilting his head and folding one ear down making himself look adorable.

"How did you climb up that  high that  fast?"

"It's easy. Come join me." He said with a wide smile, patting the space on the branch next to him.

"I can try I guess."

With that I began jumping and clumsily dragging myself up to his height.

"Well that was harder than I expected." I muttered earning a cute giggle from the boy next to me.

"Yeah, I guess that because I climb up here all the time I forgot how hard it used to be." He said looking out at the view.

I decided to give it a try and when I did I was shocked at how beautiful it looked.

Relaxing slightly, I leaned on Phil and rested my head on his already slightly tilted one.

"It's pretty up here isn't it?" I whispered breaking the silence.

"Y-yeah, it Is." He stuttered out and from the corner of my eye I could see him a pink tinge on his face but thought nothing of it.

I could feel the weight of his head grow heavier until it eventually dropped onto my shoulder and I could hear soft snoring sounds.

His fluffy ears were tickling my neck until he snuggled into my shoulder making us both more comfortable.

A few minuets later I realised what position we were sat in and felt my whole face burn up but didn't move.

I felt a wave of tiredness wash over me and followed in the foot steps of the boy on my shoulder.

Soon enough my head was delicately rested on his and I dropped off to sleep to.
