Getting better ( Johnny's POV)

Hailee has been in the hospital for 3 days, the doctors said she had broken ribs and a small concussion. Lex and I stayed with her the whole time since we didn't go to school much. Hailee has gotten much better but she's been sleeping a lot lately, so me and lex have become really good friends over the past few days. I don't know why but Ponyboy seemed to be getting jealous because I've been spending a lot of time with Lexi. He really has nothing to be jealous about, I like Hailee and I'm pretty sure Lex doesn't have a thing for me. It was the 4th of November, and Hailee finally got released. She needed a little help because she was still bruised a lot, so me and Lex helped her around. "Okay guys, I think I can walk I'm not a little baby." Hailee laughed. "Okay we were just trying to help you geez Hails." Lex exclaimed. "Hey Hailee, you need anything, like food or somethin'?" I asked shyly. "Sure Johnnycakes, I would like a small burger and fries from The Dingo, oh and thanks so much." She smiled at me. "No problem." I smiled back. " Aye Johnny, meet us at the Curtis house okay?" Lex yelled from a far. "Sure alright." I yelled back. As I was walking, I did a lot of thinking. The 3 days I spent with Hailee were the happiest days of my life, She's like the rainbow after the rain, you know the good part. She's so funny and we have a whole lot of things in common. Her beautiful bluish-green eyes remind me of the ocean, and the ways she thinks about things are different and good. She's so short but her nice body makes up for it. Gosh I can go on and on about this girl. I wasn't even paying attention to where I was going because I had Hailee on my mind, I better hurry she must be starving right now. I ran into the Dingo and got her food quickly and headed over to Pony's house. I couldn't wait to see her.

(Pony's POV)

I've been having to go to school instead of being with Lex and it really made me unhappy, I can't focus in class or anything because she's always on my mind 24/7. I know Johnny doesn't like Lex, but the thought of him being with her all the time makes feel jealous and I feel like I need to be the one with her all the time. When she isn't with me it feels like a piece of me is gone but when she is with me I am complete and happy. I really hope she stays with us for a really long time. Shoot, Hailee could stay with us too, I know that'd make Johnny a real happy camper. I really like her and I don't know how to tell her, I hope she likes me too. Hell I think I might love her. The door to my house opened and I saw Hailee enter first and then Lex came in. I haven't seen her lately so right as she came in I hugged her for a while. She layed her head on my chest and we stood there in silence. Hailee didn't pay attention to us really. She just sat down and watched TV. Soda and Dally arrived and I heard a chorus of of "awes" except from Dally. He just looked at me in disgust. Lex let go of me and sat down next to Hailee, I could tell Lex looked sad because Dally makes her very uncomfortable. Johnny came in with a small to-go box of food from The Dingo. I'm guessing it was for Hailee. "Took you long enough, Slow-poke." Lex teased Johnny. "Oh hush." Johnny replied as he stuck his tongue out at her. "Thank you so very much Johnny I'm so happy I could kiss you!!" Hailee said with food stuffed in her mouth. We all laughed and I saw Johnny blush. "Hey Johnnycake, can we go take a walk?" I asked. "Sure Pone, let's go." We headed out the door together and I immediately began to talk. "Hey man, I don't know how to put this but, I really like have feelings for Lex. She's like so perfect, I need her and once I get her I won't let go." I let out. Johnny looked at me with a half-surprised look on his face. "Yeah I get it, I feel the same about Hailee, she drives me crazy in a good way." Johnny answered. "Yeah." I laughed. Johnny and I walked to the park and hung out for a while. Johnny was for sure my best buddy, I could tell him anything. Johnny ran back to my house and got liquor from somewhere and we started to drink it.

(Lex's POV)

As soon as I walked into the house with Hailee, Ponyboy grabbed me and hugged me again. It was just like the hug 3 days ago but this time he was holding me by the waist. I got to admit I liked it a lot, wait I loved it. He makes me so happy, I just wish I could tell him. Hopefully I will. Maybe he likes me back, he hugs me a lot and I always catch him staring at me, Maybe that's a sign, just maybe. Dally and Sodapop walked in and Dally gave Pony and I a disgusted look so I let go. What is it with Dallas? I did nothing to him, he makes me feel so horrible about myself, it's like he's one of my parents, he needs to stop before I explode and things really get bad. Johnny came in with Hailee's food. I spoke up and said "Took you long enough slow-poke." "Oh hush." Johnny replied as he stuck his tongue out. I looked over at Pony and he seemed mad or disappointed. I was about to get up and go talk to him but he asked Johnny to go take a walk with him so they both left. Soda, Dally, Hailee and I were left. Hailee finished her food and threw her things in the trash. I was about to go find Pony and Johnny but Dally spoke up. "Hey, Pony don't need no distractions, and you're one of em', he needs to focus on school more than girls, so I suggest you leave." "Dallas shut up, nothing is going on between them right now, Leave lex alone." Soda said. "Yeah you know what Dallas Winston, I can do whatever I want whenever I want and you can't do anything about that, so why don't you just shut your trap and leave me alone for once!?" I yelled at him. Hailee looked too shy to walk in the room so she just stood there looking at the argument. Dallas looked mad, he looked like he was gonna hurt me or something so I backed up a little. "I can do somethin about it, just remember I'm Dallas Winston and I get whatever I want you little broad." He spat. I lost control and I slapped him directly in the face. Soda got up and stood in front of me to protect me from Dallas. He yelled something I couldn't quite make out and he stormed out of the door. "I hate him." Hailee and I both said at the same time. Damn what is his problem? He's like Satan. He needs a girl to tie him down and make him softer, hopefully that'll happen.

3 hours later

It was already 7:21pm and Pony and Johnny weren't back yet. Hailee and I started to get worried so we told the guys we were heading out to look for them. We grabbed our leather jackets and I grabbed my blade and we headed out. "I'm worried, what if they got beat and they're lying somwhere unconscious." Hailee mentioned. "Really Hailee, do you think they would be the ones unconscious?" I asked. We both laughed. We were walking everywhere and we decided to walk to the lot and sit for a while. "I know where they are!!" Hailee practically screamed! "Where." I yelled back. "Johnny told me while I was in the hospital that Pony and them go on walks and they usually go to the park to relax and talk a while." Hailee said quite excitedly. I nodded my head and we ran over there as quick as possible. We were both good runners, we had the same pace so we kept up with eachother. It was about 3 minutes later we reached the park and there we found Pony and Johnny laughing together. They noticed us and they told us to come join them. They had a bottle of liquor I recognized the taste as Vodka. We drank at least half a bottle between all of us and we stayed at the park all night. I loved them, especially Ponyboy. I think I'm gonna tell him. Wait no, I am gonna tell him.
