Gifts (Pony's POV)

I woke up on the couch of course, Darry probably carried me down to the couch. He's so annoying! It was around 10am and Johnny was awake. Today was the day I get to buy lex her anniversary present, I'm pretty sure Johnny is going with me too, I told Hailee he already got her a present but he really hasn't so he's gonna buy her one today. "Hey, Johnny were gonna leave around 1 okay."  "Alrighty." He smiled. "What's got you so happy." I rolled my eyes playfully. "Hailee as always." He smiled. Johnny is such a weirdo sometimes, I guess they can be weirdos together. Johnny went back upstairs to greet Hailee. So that left me all alone downstairs, Soda and Darry are already at work, so I honestly have nobody right now unless lex wakes up.

The door busted open and it was Dally, he looked really mad, like he was gonna beat the shit out of someone right now. Dal, what happened??" I questioned. "Mya, she was two-timing me just like Sylvia." He yelled in anger. I swear a saw a tear roll down his face. "I'm sorry Dal, hopefully you'll find someone worth your time." I said to him. He nodded and ran like the devil through the door, probably gonna go beat someone up. I thought Mya was a cool girl. I guess not, no one is gonna wanna see her and I'm pretty sure lex will dislike her a lot.

I looked at the clock and it was 12:34pm. Why isn't Lexi awake? She usually gets up when I do. I decided to walk upstairs. I opened the door to find Lexi passed out, wow she must've been tired. I went to her side of the bed and moved the hair out of her beautiful face. Gosh, I hope I never lose her. I kissed her soft lips and she opened her eyes. "Goodmorning Beautiful." I whispered. "Goodmorning Ponyboy, i love you." She said tiredly. "Johnny and I are gonna hang out today okay, so please if you go anywhere be safe okay?" I told her. She nodded and got up out of bed to hug me. "You be safe too." She said as she held me tighter. "Oh yeah, Mya two-timed Dallas." I said to her thinking about dal. "What? I thought she was good to him." She looked at me with sorrow in her eyes. "Dal deserves better." She said. I nodded and kissed her before I go. "I gotta go now, i love you Lexi." I kissed her cheek and she blushed. "Hailee and I will probably go to DQ or something." She told me, I nodded and left the room to get Johnny. I opened the door to Johnny's room and he was hugging Hailee. "Johnnycake, it's time to go." I said laughing. He nodded and kissed Hailee goodbye. "Be safe Hails." He said to her. We walked out of the door knowing exactly where to go. "So what are you going to get her?" I asked Johnny. "a promise ring." He answered as he looked at me. "How'd you get the money?" I asked curiously. "I stole quite a bit of money from my mom's purse, you could say I've been collecting." He laughed. Greasers are poor, but we sure know how to steal things.  "I've just been saving up really." I said. He nodded. "So, where's the nearest jeweler place." Johnny asked. " two blocks away from DQ." I told him. We were very close so we ran as fast as we could, we past Dairy Queen and ran some more. "There it is." Johnny said out of breath. We stopped running and walked into the Jeweler place. The lady working their looked at us like trash, what a broad. "What do you guys want." She asked rudely. "We're here to buy something." I said pointing out the obvious. "Oh, I didn't know you guys could afford anything in here." She laughed. Johnny looked very offended. "Look lady, we just need help to find our girlfriends a perfect present." Johnny muttered. "Talk to my manager." She walked away and got her manager which was much nicer. "Hello, how can I help you today." The man asked. "I'm here to look at the necklace pieces and chains, so I can engrave something on it." I told him. He nodded and pointed in a direction, I guess I go that way. "What about you sir." he asked johnny. "I'm looking for promise rings." He told him and pointed him in the opposite direction of me.

I started looking, I saw this dancing girl with a jewel in the middle, but it was too small to put words on. I kept looking and had no luck at all until I saw this one, it was perfect. It was gold with one jewel on top of it, it was a puzzle piece. I could put something like "you complete the puzzle of my heart." Or "you complete my puzzle." I should go with the first one. I called the manager over and Pointed to the one I wanted. "Perfect choice, you should get a golden chain to go with it." He suggested. I nodded and he put it on a golden chain, it looked perfect for her. I nodded happily and he laughed. "What would you like engraved on it." He asked. "Um, you complete the puzzle of my heart." I said. "Ah, for your girlfriend?" He asked. I nodded. "Well, I will have it right out, it may take about an hour, so you can have a seat if you want." He said. I went over to a chair happily. I couldn't wait until our anniversary in 2 days, it'll be perfect.

(Johnny's POV)

Hailee and I's anniversary was tomorrow. There was a variety of rings but I couldn't find the perfect one. I sighed in frustration and kept looking. This one caught my eye, finally. It was a silver ring with a blue jewel in the middle with silver ones surrounding it, and on the back of the ring it said 'promise?' I love this one! She'll love it too. I asked for help and someone car over to help me, they got the ring out and said it would be $100, they gave me a discount, I don't know why? I had exactly $130 so it was perfect. I purchased the ring and they put it in a small brown box and gave it to me.

Pony noticed I finally bought something and he stood up to greet me. "Hey what'd you get her?" He asked curiously. I showed him and his face lit up like a Christmas tree. "She'll absolutely love it Johnny." He told me. I smiled and nodded. "What'd you get lex?" I asked. "You'll see, he should be out with it in a moment." He told me.

(Pony's POV)

"Mr. Curtis." The manager called out. I happily got up to receive Lex's gift. He showed me it and I got so happy. "Thank you so much, she'll love it." I practically screamed. He got startled and laughed. "Well, your total is $250, but I know you don't have that money so I lowered the price to $105." He said. "Thank you so much sir, this is the best day ever." I said as I handed him the money. He handed me the necklace in a small black box and told Johnny and I to have a great day. "Let me see man." Johnny said excitedly. I showed him the Perfect necklace and he smirked. "You really are the best for her you know? When Hailee was in the hospital she told me a lot, and she deserves good and you are perfect for her Ponyboy." Johnny told me. I smiled and hugged Johnny, he is my bestfriend after all. "Thanks man, and Hailee needed you just as much as you needed her, I'm happy for you." I smiled. He smiled back and we walked home.

We entered the house and it was very quiet, too quiet. Johnny looked for hailee and I looked for lex. No one was here. I looked at the kitchen counter and it had a note on it, and it read.

Hey, we went to hang out, we love you pony and Johnny, we're safe.

I could tell it was Lex's handwriting,
It's perfect. Johnny and I hid the presents somewhere safe and we sat down and relaxed for a bit.

(Lexi's POV)

Hailee and I decided to go anniversary shopping.  "Hailee, I don't know what to get Ponyboy." I whined. "Get him a necklace, that's what I'm getting Johnny." She said. We walked into the jeweler store past DQ and a man greeted us. "What are you ladies looking for today?" He asked. "Necklaces for guys." We said at the same time. He pointed to the direction we should go in an we gladly walked to it. As soon as we got over there, I already found the perfect one. It was all gold with a golden chain, it was just a plain circle but I can put some words on it. I called the jeweler over and told him to put 'forever and always' on the necklace. He nodded and told me it'd be a minute, so I took a seat. I wonder when Hailee will find the perfect one for Johnny.

(Hailee's POV)

I kept looking and had no luck. I decided to not get him a necklace, maybe a ring will do. I past the engagement rings and went to the simple ones. I found a ring that was sterling silver and it said 'i love you' on it. It was perfect, I know he'd never take it off. I called a worker over and they put the ring in a small brown box and the total was $75. Perfect! I had just enough, of course it was a ring for a guy though. I sat by lex and showed her the ring. "Awe Hailee it's perfect for Johnny." She smiled. "I know it is." I laughed. "So where's your gift at?" I asked. "In the back getting words engraved on it." She answered. I nodded and we sat waiting. I couldn't wait to see what she got Ponyboy.

(Lex POV)

The man finally came back with the necklace, I got to view it and it was perfect, Ponyboy would love it. "That'd be $100." He told me. I nodded and gave home exactly $100, that's all I had. He put the necklace in a black box and gave it to me. Hailee and I walked out and we raced home.  I ran into the door winning the race, I found pony and Johnny laughing at some TV show. "Hello." I said out of breath. Pony looked at me and patted his leg, motioning me to sit in his lap. I nodded and smiled, but I sat next to him instead. Hailee sat next to Johnny and put in a movie. I cuddled with Ponyboy. "I love you so much." He told me. "I love you too."  I said happily. We had yet another perfect day. Hopefully it stays like this forever. I hope dally comes back okay, I know he really is hurt.
