Why would I fly all the way back to England for my ex-boyfriend's wedding to my former crush?

Simon isn't even gay. (Wasn't even gay?) And Baz hates Simon! He used to, anyway.
What crazy shenanigans did I miss? I don't even want to know at this point.
I stare at my blank phone screen, trying to process this strange turn of events. My screen lights up with three texts from Penny.
Penny: you're gonna be maid of honor for me right
Penny: also your mum found your wand. why would you leave it here??
Penny: she's very mad and is sending you it along with an angry phone call so heads up.
I sigh and turn my phone off, then lie down on my bed. I can't believe how bad this day is going. Not just bad, but strange, too. I can't escape magic, and Simon and Baz are getting married, and even worse, I have to see them at Penelope's wedding to Micah.
My phone buzzes. It's my mum.
My day is about to get worse.
