-=My's Point of View=-
I went out for a walk early that morning after noticing Jacky was already at the stables. She'd looked stressed when she'd gotten home last night and whenever that happened she always ended up leaving the house somewhat close to 5:30 in the morning. I didn't go with her though, I knew nothing about riding and the one time I'd try to hang out with her there had been a disaster. I'd managed to call almost everything the wrong name. I like exploring the Forgotten Fields on my own though, it was a pretty nice place to explore. I'd always been kind of a shy person so I usually went out on my own. I didn't mind though, the quiet was nice in the mornings. I wandered aimlessly through the fields not worried about getting lost, as I've done this so many times I knew this area like the back of my hand. Suddenly I heard what sounded like a guy yelling angrily Confused I grabbed a stick and snuck over keeping myself behind a large rock. Peering around the rock I saw a guy on the beach trying to force a black horse with a bright blonde mane, and a little brown and white pony on to a boat. It was clear they probably weren't his horses and even if they were he was abusing them by hitting them hard with a lunge whip. (I know some horse terms my sister owns a horse, I kinda learned these things over time) I raced down there catching the guy by surprise and hitting him hard in the head with my stick causing him to collapse to the ground. I looked up at the boat to see at least ten more guys. Dang it I thought realizing I should've thought this through better. I took out a pocket knife (Don't ask why I have it just be glad I do) and cut the horses free. "Run!" I yelled to them as I started to race away. The pony raced off somewhere else but the horse ended up going the same way as me. Luckily from walking every day out here I had pretty decent stamina and knew the area better then our pursuers. Remembering a well concealed cave I'd found last month I raced towards and whispered to the horse "In here, quick!" he raced in and I followed. The stones in front made it look like there was no cave unless you looked for one in this exact spot. I tensed as I heard the guys run past yelling. I heard them stop and mumble in confusion. Finally one guy announces loudly to get the others attention "Come on let's just head back the boss will be angry if we are late!" I heard them chatting as they walked off and breathed a sigh of relief as their voices faded into the distance. I turned to the horse who seemed just as relieved as I was. "Your safe for now" I told the horse "I don't know where your friend went though" I dug through my pockets desperately looking for something to give the horse since he still looked nervous. I managed to find a broken peppermint in my back pocket. I'd always been a little nervous around horses, I'd never given one a treat before. I held it out hands shaking only knowing that whenever Jacky fed Oreo held her hand flat. "Do you want this?" I asked the horse. I knew he sensed my nervousness and maybe that's why he was so gentle about it. He reached out slowly and took the treat. I tensed a little when his nose touched my hand afraid he was going to bite but he simply took the treat and backed off. That wasn't so bad I thought to myself stroking my new friend's neck. "I wonder how you ended up with them, your so sweet" I said to the horse. I found it hard to to believe anyone would sell a horse to people like those guys, so I had the feeling that wasn't the story. Then to my surprise the horse actually replied! "Sometimes I wonder the same thing. Unfortunately, I was born into that mess" he said quietly. "What the... Did you just talk!?" I cried out in amazement. "Yeah" the horse replied "haven't met somebody that understands what I'm saying in a while though". That second part confused me. "What do you mean?" I asked him. "Well only Soul Riders can speak to me, and it's been a while since I've seen one" he explained. I didn't understand how this was possible at all. I'd read about the Soul Riders, everyone knew that legend, but I'd never thought they were real. Is he saying I'm a soul rider? How is that possible I've never ridden a horse in my life! I thought my mind racing. "I'm guessing it's a lot to take in" the horse said "you don't look like you've ridden before and here I am telling you your a soul rider" I stayed silent still taking it in. The horse spoke again a moment later "Well thanks for helping me and Ice back there, my name is Sapphire by the way" deciding it couldn't hurt to talk with him I replied "No problem, it's what any good person would've done!" "What's your name?" Sapphire asked. "My" I replied. We chatted for a bit longer before deciding I had to go, I didn't want anyone to know about this yet and I had to return at the time I normally did if I wanted to avoid questions. "Can you be here tomorrow?" I asked Sapphire hopefully. "Definitely, I'll be here" he replied. I left happily, yet trying to think this all through. I wasn't going to tell anyone yet. Not even Jacky.
