Chapter 12

   By the time we finally got back to stables the moon had risen high in the sky. Oreo looked like he was about to faint so I took him into his stall where he laid down on the floor. After making sure he had water, I went and put Chip in his stall. He began pacing nervously, but I wasn't worried I knew he was just probably thinking about Nina. Once Kate had put Fox away and I'd set up an empty stall for the other horse I turned to Silverblaze. "I'm gonna need your help explaining what all this means to them" I told him. I was actually hoping he'd know what to do about Nina since I had no idea. I told Silverblaze everything that had happened that day. "And they saw all of it?" He asked looking at Kate and My. "Yeah" I replied. "Well then they need to know the full story" he said. Silverblaze told them everything that had happened since we'd brought him to the stables, with me translating what he was saying since only Soul Riders could talk to horses. I noted that he mentioned nothing of his past, that I guess was only for me to know. "I'm very glad you guys saved Sapphire" he said at the end. So that was the other horse's name. I hadn't worried about his neck because the bleeding had stopped about fifteen minutes before we got back, so it wasn't serious. "Thanks for helping me!" Sapphire said. "You're welcome" I said smiling at the horse. "I really wish I could understand these horses" Kate said. I noticed My was pretty quite. We'd bandaged her arm on the way back, and the injury didn't look deep so I doubted it was that keeping her quiet. "You alright My?" I asked her. "Yeah are you? You usually talk a little more" Sapphire said causing me to look up at him. Even Silverblaze was looking. "Wait she can talk to you!?" Silverblaze asked perking his ears forward. "Yeah" Sapphire replied. I looked at My who must've felt pretty awkward right now. "So you finally found a horse you'll touch" I joked with her thinking about when she wouldn't touch Oreo. She smiled clearly remembering as well. "Yeah, maybe it was because he didn't try poking me with his nose constantly" she replied laughing. "Wait so I'm the only one who can't understand half this conversation right now?" Kate said causing us to laugh again. "So how did you meet Sapphire?" I asked My. I was curious to know how she'd run into a horse and actually came to like him. She told us the story of how she'd freed him and a pony from Dark Core and his afterward her and Sapphire had hidden in a cave. Afterward she'd gone back to see him every day, even actually ridden him once or twice. I wondered how she'd found out the right position and when I asked I learned Sapphire has taught her. Silverblaze seemed interested in something else though. "There was a brown and white pony? Do you know where he went?" Silverblaze asked. "No, he ran off another direction" My replied. "Dang it, we need to find him!" Silverblaze said. "What about Nina?" Kate asked (I'd translated Silverblaze's question to her so she'd know what was going on) "we definitely need to find her too right?" "Of course" Silverblaze said. "Wouldn't she be at Dark Core's secret base?" I asked. "Yes, but I don't know where it is otherwise I would've tried to get Sunny out long ago" he replied. I told Kate his answer. I really wished a magical horse would walk through the door right now and become Kate's magical partner so I wouldn't have to translate anymore, but I knew I wouldn't get that lucky. Suddenly I thought of something. "Do you think Nina would meet Sunny if they're at the same place?" I asked. Silverblaze perked up a little. "Maybe, and they might be able to help each other" he said hopefully. I hoped so too. I hope Nina's alright I thought to myself. I really did hope so.
