Legacy's P.O.V.
"Are you okay?" I hear two voices say in sync.
I look up and see a set of twins through the tears. But not the ones that I am beginning to hate.
These twins both had army green armor and had yellow visors covering their optics. They were both small sized and had blocky frames. The oddest thing about them is that they were Siamese twins. They were both connected at their shoulder joint.
"I'm fine." I say quietly.
"Sure doesn't look like it." The one on my right side. He offered me his hand and I took it. He hauled me to my pedes with ease and I look at the both of them.
"My name's Rack." The one who helped me up introduced himself, shaking my left servo. The twin took my right hand, making me cross my arms.
"I'm Ruin." He said with a smile.
"Legacy." I say.
"Well Legacy," Ruin starts.
"You look like you're having a rough day." Rack finishes.
"I guess you can say that..." I say with a shrug.
"Come on." One twin says.
"We know a place where you can get away from all this." The other finishes.
They lead me wordlessly through the halls and then we come up on a door that had writing on the front that I wasn't skilled enough to read.
They push the door open and hold it for me as I walk through the doorway. The room was dark and was filled with moisture so much that it was hard for me to breathe. Not that I had to, but it was a force of habit.
What am I doing?! I've always been told, 'don't talk to strangers'. I'm walking into a dark, dank room with two mechs willingly. I huff and continue on.
The twins looked quiet strong, even though I'm sure they had their limitations being Siamese twins. They both were taller than me by about five feet. I only came up to their chests. They had strong armor too.
"Up this way!" They called in sync. They stood by a ladder that lead up so far that you couldn't see the end of it in the shadows.
"Where does it go?" I ask skeptically.
"You'll see." They say before they start climbing the ladder. They only used their legs on the inside, keeping the two on the outside tucked close because the ladder cage was almost to narrow for them.
I cross the strap of my pack over my chest and I climb up behind them, soon bright light rushed into the dark passage, blinding me.
I peak my head over the top of the ladder and see the Cybertronian skies. I see a green servo in front of me and I take it, Ruin pulling me easily out of the passage. They shut the top of the ladder well and they turn to me.
"Come on, we're on the roof." Rack says cheerfully. They lead me to thee edge and crouch down. I crouch next to them.
"The Enforcers will run us off if they see us up here." Ruin says.
Beyond the gray skies, I found something that I finally found beautiful about Cybertron. The second sun was coming up on the horizon and was burning a bright blue that lit the sky up in hues of blue and purple that clashed with the reds and oranges of the first sun. It took my breath away.
"From the surface, you can't see this because of all the dust and smoke." Ruin says softly. I look over at the both of them.
"Why did you help me?" I ask them. They're optics glowed behind their visors.
"Because, if it were us in you're position, we wouldn't want to be seen by the others like that." Rack says.
"You needed some help. And nobody is gonna offer it to you when you're so different from them." Ruin says, earning a sharp glare from his brother.
"It's okay. It's true. Is that why you helped me? Because you're different too." I say softly. They both nod.
"Thank you." I say, feeling my spark well with happiness that I'm actually making a friend.
We sat up there, watching the second sun rise and the colors in the sky go to war. We talked to each other about our interests and our likes and not once did either of us even talk about what we were, or how, or why. I was sick of questions that revolved around my skin, teeth, why I was shivering, or sweating. It was a break from everything that reminded me of why I didn't want to be here.
Rack and Ruin where in Advanced training. They were excellent Math students, although Rack liked Critical Thinking better. They told me about where they lived in the fifth level. They had a room to themselves in an old shuttle that used to be active in the Golden Age. They were exceptional fighters in The Pits. They mostly faced low level Bots for credits or energon, but they were moving up in the ranks which meant that they would be facing stronger Bots.
I told them that I loved reading and that I lived in Enforcer tenements with my Sire. I told them about my uncles. I don't think they believed me that I was an official's niece though. I told them about how I have an obsession for art and culture.
"So your Sire is an Enforcer?" They prompt.
"Yeah. He works most of the time. He's gone before I wake up and gets home around the time I get ready to recharge. But, he keeps a roof over my head and makes sure I get my energon, so I can't complain." I shrug. I would love it if we were bonded again. I miss my Dad, no matter how much of a jerk he has been lately.
"We get that. We were among the first sparks to come out of the well after The Revival. So we don't have a Sire. Even though we wish we did. Most of the Bots in the fifth level keep to themselves. We haven't lived anywhere else." They say. It was like their minds were thinking faster than they could talk and their words came out like fragments. I understood what they were saying though. Nobody is taking care of them.
"You guys don't have any other friends?" I questioned. I know that Bots didn't like different, but these were the nicest people I have met on Cybertron outside of my family. How could somebody not like them?!
"Well, we've always been ostracized by the others. You're the first person who hasn't looked at us with the look they all have when they see us." Ruin says sadly.
I knew exactly what look they were talking about. Everyone who has ever seen me close enough to realize that my skin wasn't completely metal and that I had teeth and my fingers weren't digits get the look..
We then sit in silence for awhile, enjoying each other's company. But that all came to an end when the siren ran out, signaling the end of the class and to get to the next ones.
"I'll be out here during break if you'll have me." I say softly. The twins both look at me.
"You're always welcome." They say together. I nod my thanks to them and I leave them, heading to the ladder well. I give the twins one last look before I leave.
A/N: Yay! Legacy has finally made a friend!
