Smokecreen's P.O.V.
I move to the medic center, seeing Jolt there. There were several worried creators surrounding the area, but I drew the attention of Jolt.
"Have you seen Legacy?!" I yell above the other voices. His optics flick to me and he called back a 'no' before he returned his attention to the injured femmling in front of him. The poor girl had her arm turned into a mangled mess by the blast.
There were several rumors circulating through the crowd. Rouge Decepticons. Rebels. Officals trying to reduce the population to save energon. It was all scrap.
"Lieutenant!" I call, seeing the commander of my unit.
"Smokescreen, help clear some of these Bots out of here." He ordered.
"Yes sir. Any news from inside?" I ask hopefully.
"Sorry cadet." He said sympathetically. He was one of the few outside my family that knew of Legacy. I didn't speak much of my personal life at work.
I distracted myself by following his orders and moving the people away from the boundaries. It was tragic to watch the creators cry for their younglings They screamed at me for removing them. I was silent in my actions other than directing them to a safer area.
It had been a few hours now and no sign of Legacy, Maverick, or Coda. I had attempted to go in and look, but the firebots wouldn't allow it. They told me that the building was unstable and were unwilling to make an exception.
Bluestreak was balling at my side. I tried not to cry and focused on consoling Blue. I was glad that our bond was nonexistent at this moment, because he was feel my doubt.
I hear a crash from inside and I leave Blue's side to investigate. I hoped that it was Legacy. A few of the kids had made it out on their own. It could be her. I go to the opening at the front and I peak inside.
"Legacy?" I whisper.
But instead, the two most notorious delinquents in our records emerge. Sunstreaker and Sideswipe. The yellow twin carried his unconscious brother, giving me a scowl before he shoved past me.
"Have you seen a small femme? Her name is Leg-"
"She's in there." Sunstreaker grunted out.
"Is she alive?" I ask cautiously.
"Why don't you go find out for yourself?" He sneered, placing his brother on a gurney to be looked at by a medic.
I feel rage flare in my spark and I grabbed him roughly by the shoulders. He growled menacingly and shoved me back.
"Keep your servos off me." He said disgusted.
"Is she alive?" I ask again, my voice low.
"She was when I saw her." Sunstreaker responded before returning to his bother.
Now, I had a renewed hope. I look to the entrance and head back to Blue. We wait for our children to come out, or to be uncovered.
Legacy's P.O.V.
I walked silently through the halls, searching for my cousins, hoping that they were alive. I couldn't believe that they were gone. Just like that. My two best friends died. The tragic part was that they were separated from each other. Their sparks must have been in so much pain...
Thinking about them made me start crying again. I wipe the tears away roughly and carry on my search. I stepped over bodies, ducked under fallen pillars, and squeezed through tight gaps.
I was searching the Basic Learning section. Maybe Coda would be in here. My hopes were high because I had found a few other younglings in here, alive. I passed them though, vowing to get them on the way back.
Then, I found him. Coda was huddled in the corner with an Instructor. But the mech had his abdomen blown open from the explosion and had offlined. I assumed he had brought the lot of youngling's in here for shelter from the falling ceiling.
"Coda?" I say tentatively. His optics flick to me and he gets up rushing to me, limping badly. He wrapped his arms around my middle, leaning on me for support.
"Legacy!" He sobbed. He looked up at me with tear stained cheeks and sad optics.
"Lets get you out of here and I'll come back for your friends." I tell him. I'd have to carry him. His leg was bleeding and the armor was dented beyond repair. I scooped him up in my arms and headed back the way I came, passing Rack and Ruin, holding in the tears.
"Keep on the look out for Maverick. I haven't found him yet." I say to him. He had his legs wrapped around me torso and his arms latched onto my shoulders.
I was relieved to have found him. It allowed me to have some hope that we'd find Maverick too.
"Maverick!" he called behind me. He yelled for his brother, but there was no sign of him. I soon arrived at the front of the building to find it swarmed with other Bots.
"What's happening?" I ask no one in particular.
"It's too small to get through. And the Enforcers on the outside can't move the debris because it's the only thing holding the doorway up." Someone among the crowd answered.
"Let me see." I demand. The Bots move away and I saw the outside. I move to the opening and look through, seeing a few firebots, Enforcers, and a familiar color scheme.
"Daddy!" I yell. Azure optics met mine and a sob sounded above all the noise.
"Legacy!" Dad rushed over, Blue not far behind.
"Sire!" Coda shouted.
They both met us at the opening and Coda reached a hand out to hold Blue's.
"Coda? Are you okay? Where's Maverick?" Bluestreak cried.
"I couldn't find him. I only found Coda with a bunch of other younglings. But, I couldn't keep track of all of them so I left them where they were safe." I felt like nothing I said made sense. I was crying tears of joy, for finding Dad, tears of grief for Rack and Ruin, and tears of anger for those that launched the attack.
"That's okay. Are you hurt?" Dad asks concerned. I shake my head.
"Do you think we could fit Coda though?" I inquire. The hole might be just big enough for him to squeeze through.
"His armor is too bulky." Bluestreak said disappointingly.
"Then lets take it off. It's better than him staying in here." I say. Blue looked at me oddly for a moment before nodding. I had learned that it was sort of taboo for a Cybertronian's protoform to be showing. I hardly noticed the looks people were giving me about the missing helm.
I started with Coda's shoulder armor, taking it off, then his knees, elbows, pedes. I got all the armor off that would keep him form fitting through that hole. I lifted him up and put him through head first. He went into Blue's waiting arms, then he went off to go tend to his injured leg.
"Legacy?" Dad looked at me.
"I'm gonna go get the other younglings and look for Maverick. Then, we'll find another way out." I say determinedly. I could tell he was about to protest but thought better of it.
"Be safe Little Spark." He told me, tears in his optics.
"Love you Dad." I whispered.
A few of the other Bots from the front doors came with me to help get the younglings out of the room. We all lead them back to the front doors and stripped them of their armor, fitting most of them thought the hole.
Now, it was time to find Maverick and another way out.
