Legacy's P.O.V.
Things were moving fast. In the past few days, there have been reports of masses of circuit speeders moving through the slums. Enforcers put a lockdown on the fifth and sixth levels and are monitoring all of the Bot's down there. Dad has been stationed there, but we don't really talk anymore. Ever since my outburst, he's been avoiding me. He leaves extra early and comes home later. I feel like I'm taking care of myself these days. Dad goes to the Distribution Center and still provides and all, but I don't feel like he's being a father to me.
Sideswipe has officially become one of my friends. I still mostly hang out with Rack and Ruin because Sides still has a reputation to maintain. But, we have gotten into a habit of goofing off all History period and walking together as he goes to training and I go to the roof. At break and lunch however, he hangs out with his normal gang.
Rack and Ruin don't mind. We still resume our normal meets ups and we walk together to the transport lifts everyday. They were still my best friends. Even more so than the ones on Earth. They were level headed, funny, good company, and they were unique. Not just there physical forms, but the way they treated others. Even though most people treated them unkindly and they lived poor lives, they were they nicest Bots out there. I admire them for that.
It was late in the day, Bots preparing to dash out the door when the dismissal bell rang, when I heard a ping in my ear. I raise a hand up and I press two fingers to my helmet.
"Hello?" I whisper softly.
"My shift is going to be extended tonight. I won't be home until tomorrow morning. Go straight home." He orders. I mumble an 'okay', before he hangs up. I frown and do a deep intake, feeling my lungs flutter in my chest. They were never the same after my....transformation.
I meet with the twins in the halls and we laugh together as we walk out the front doors, surrounded by the crowd. We stop at the transport lifts and turn to each other.
"So what did your Sire say about you coming over to our place?" Ruin asks. A sudden thought popped into my mind at the question.
"He said it's cool." I smile. They grin and pull me into an oversized hug. They drag me into their lift and it descends into the lower levels of Cybertron. I feel my heart racing wildly in my chest and I have a bad feeling.
I should be ashamed that I'm doing this, but it was almost a thrill. I guess this would be like a punishment for the way my dad is treating me, even if it is just disobeying him.
Rack and Ruin bound out of the transport lift once it gets to the fifth level and I speed walk to catch up to them. I see many optics on me as I follow the twins out, and I recognize many of my peers.
It was dark down here, the only light coming from the transport lifts and the Bots' optics. Most of the Bots down here looked tired. Some of them were quarreling with one another and others were sitting quietly.
Rack snapped me out of my daze by placing a firm hand on my shoulder and leading me further into the slums. Soon, we came up on something that look like a train car. It had small, circular window that were covered in grime. It used to be white, but now it had faded yellow and was covered in rust spots. It was sunken into the Cybertronian soil and was dented from years of being buried down here.
Rack and Ruin continued forward and approached the shuttle. I expected them to pry open the doors, but instead, they leaped up and latched onto the roof of the shuttle, pulling themselves up. I stared up at them in awe that they could do that, but then again, they were strong fighters. Then, I realize that it was my turn. I look up at the shuttle that was twice my height and I let out a sigh.
"Here catch!" I toss up my pack, which Ruin easily caught with his arm. I look up at them and huff as I try to get a running start to reach the top, only to fall back painfully on my aft. They both snicker as I pick myself up.
"Hush your mouths! I'm short." I defend. They just chuckled at me and then Rack stretched a servo out to me.
"It's not your fault." Ruin says cheekily.
"I'll catch you." Rack smiles down softly at me. I take a deep breath and I prepare myself to jump. I took my stance again and I sprint forward, leaping up into the air, stretching my arm out. Rack caught me easily and I gasped as he pulled me up to the roof.
"Whoa... Thanks. You guys are strong." They grin at that and Rack winks at me. I see a hole in the top of the shuttle, that was obviously not there when it was built in the Golden Age. It was wide enough for the twins to fit through and I figured that they were the ones to make it.
"Down we go." They purred, dropping down through the roof. I hear a heavy thud from inside and I get onto my knees, looking through it skeptically. I see the both of them smirking up at me and I return with a goofy grin.
I turn around and I put my legs through, lowering myself. I felt strong servos on my waist and I hang down, able to see the twins. I let go with a small squeal and my hands reflexively grasped their shoulders.
I landed onto the floor and I thank Rack and Ruin before I look around at everything. There was a layer of dust on the seats and the floor, but under that, it was nice. They had little knick knacks scattered throughout the shuttle on the seats, hanging from the hand holds. It was quaint and cozy. The thing I liked most about it was how unique it was. It perfectly reflected the twins.
"We know that it's not much," Ruin starts.
"But, it's home." Rack finished.
I turn my head to them and I smile widely.
"It's perfect." I make my way over to them and hug them around the neck, standing on my tippy toes, resting my head at the junction where their shoulders met as they hug me around the waist.
