Sideswipe's P.O.V.
I woke up to chatter all around me. There was always an incessant chatter, but when it's this loud you know that it's almost time to go to work. Sunny was already awake and talking to Kup. I stretch, feeling the gears in my joints pop. I hop off the top bunk and I go next to my brother, resting my elbow on his shoulder, which he shrugs off.
"You're in a good mood this morning." I tease. He growls at me and elbows my gut, making me grunt.
"When will you ever learn?" Kup shook his helm at me. I shrug with a crooked grin.
"Y'all ready?" He asks. Bots were filing out the door to go to the renovation site.
"Yeah." Sunstreaker answered gruffly.
The walk over there was long and boring. We were surrounded by other Bots carrying our materials, almost like a herd. I wasn't too thrilled about work. We never get a day off, not there's much to do in this city anyway. Not until it's rebuilt of course.
When they arrived at the site and got to work, time moved fast. It was soon mid-day and most of the workers were taking a break. Sunstreaker, Kup, who doesn't actually work, and I were resting. I didn't really know why Kup was here. Because of his injury in the pits, he was unable to do any heavy lifting. All he did was boss people around.
::He came here for us.:: Sunstreaker said. I was aware that Kup thought of us as his creations. He had cared for us as younglings and was willing to follow us anywhere, even though he wouldn't admit it.
We were all broken from their thoughts as a tall mech came out of the building, staggering around as if he were overenergized, however they knew this wasn't the case, due to his empty optics, drooling mouth, and roaring cooling fans.
"What's the matter with ya?" Kup asks.
"Dunno..." The mech said tiredly. "I might have....overworked myse..." The mech didn't get to finish his sentence before the mech collapsed. He landed on the ground with a clang. I stood taking a curious step forward before my brother stopped me, grabbing my servo. Kup went over to him and check to see if he was alive.
I saw him reel his servo back and flick his hand, energon flying off of it and hitting another worker behind him, who wiped it off his cheek.
"He's alive. Someone get him back to the barracks." Kup ordered. Two mechs came forward and grabbed him, swinging his arms around their necks, and hauled him off.
Legacy's P.O.V.
It had been almost a week since I got in the fight. I was in my room hanging up a new piece of art. The famous photograph The Kiss by Alfred Eisenstaedt. I found it oddly romantic although the couple didn't even know each other.
"Legacy! Come in here." I hear Dad. I give the picture on last glace before I leave my room and I down the hall I see my uncles. It was Prowl and Jolt.
"Hey!" I run up to them smiling. Prowl lost his leg after the bombing in Praxus. Now, he gets around with a crutch that had something like a tripod on the bottom to keep his balance. I hug him first, them Jolt.
"I heard you got into a fight." He said.
"Yeah..." I sigh. "Where's everyone else?" I ask. Everything turns serious when I say that.
"Legacy we're here because a sickness is going around the rebuilding crews' barracks. It's pretty bad and I was brought here as a medic and Prowl is here to assess the damage and potential threat it could cause.
I didn't know what to say to that. Now that I think about it, a lot of the Bots at school were gone. This is bad.
"We wanted to come visit before we got to work." Prowl said. I look at him and nod.
"When did it happen?" I ask.
"A few days ago." Dad said. He was probably seeing it all first hand. He was one of the Enforcers that guard the site!
"Are you gonna get sick?" I ask worriedly.
"No. We're taking extra precautions." Dad answered with a sad smile.
"How bad is it so far?" I inquire, not knowing if I really want to know the answer.
Sunstreaker's P.O.V.
Everywhere around us there were Bots throwing up their tanks' contents on the floor, something you had to tip toe through because there was so much. So many of us were sick. Sideswipe and I were on either side of Kup's berth, listening to his fans roaring to cool his systems. He lost his sight and hearing the first day, his motor functions the second, and today rust spots have popped up all over his frame.
The mech who first got sick died this morning of hemorrhaging. He was bleeding out of his eyes, mouth, audios.... It was sickening. It took him a total of six days to die. And Kup knew what was in store for him. That was the worst part.
::How much longer do you think he has? I hate to see him suffer.:: Sides said sadly, moving next to me. Tears were gathering in his optics and I grab him my his neck, pulling him in for a side hug.
::I don't know.:: I reply.
