I’ve never been more proud of myself. When I picked up that phone and called Simon, my life has changed for the better. It’s been seven months since then. Simon was able to help me. He still loved my voice and decided he was going to give me a chance and sign me. This time I accepted the offer, no doubts. He had mentioned Niall and the rest of the boys, but I didn’t care we would be on the same label. I was going to do me and I was going to be successful.

I do have Niall to thank for introducing me to Simon in the first place, but I don’t intend on ever telling him that. To me, Niall is the one that got away, but I’m not going to go out of my way to see him and try to fix things. My dad told me he wasn’t worth the stress. And let’s just say Ryan still wants to kill him. No matter how many times I told him it doesn’t matter.

I finally told Heather and Mira about everything. They were a bit upset I had kept that from them, but they understood I was scared. I truly am blessed with the people that are in my life. I even have a new person, my manager, Evangeline, Eve for short. She’s not much older than me so we get along very well. I call her my older sister. She’s very lovely and I always get jealous of her British accent.

Anyway, I just released a new music video for my second single and finished my album. The album is called, “I’ll Let You Go” but there isn’t a title track, which is one of the reasons I’m on my way to an interview right now, to tell them about my album and explain why I call it that. I’m no longer the little pop princess I was before. I have my band alongside me all the time. I’m now a pop punk vocalist, with my lucky guitar from Flora for acoustic sets. This is how it was supposed to be, this is what feels right. I am part of the band named, “Lovebird’s Cage”. Some people may think its lame but it’s a name that means a lot to me.

We pulled up to the building where the interview was going to be held and Ryan, my drummer and yes, Mira’s boyfriend, pushed me out of the van. I laughed and the rest of the guys followed me and Eve into the lobby.

“Ah, the band is here.” The woman behind the desk said to us and I’m guessing the person she was on the phone with.

She led us to the elevator and up to the interview room. The interviewer smiled as she gestured for us to have a seat. The interview started off slow to be honest. Just the basic, what are your names and ages, who’s single, yada yada. Ryan was so adorable talking about Mira. I mentioned she was my best friend and that led into explaining how Ryan dropped out of school when I asked him to be our drummer and how we’ve be friends for so long. We went on talking about random things that were just little quirks about each of us. Mark, the guitarist, talked about how he hopes to play his violin on the future albums, seeing as though most people haven’t heard him. He is also the backup vocalist and Tanner is the bassist and very quiet so he just sat back most of the interview.

“So, (y/n). You went out with Niall Horan of One Direction. Is that correct?” I looked over at Eve and she shrugged.

“Uhm, yeah, but isn’t that on your list of things not to talk about?” I asked sitting up, feeling uncomfortable. I could feel Ryan’s eyes on me.

“We didn’t receive a list.” She looked at a man behind the camera and he shrugged too. “Sorry hun, but since we are on the topic. What happened?”

I sighed. “Listen, Niall and I went out for two months, if that.” I was estimating, I couldn’t even remember anymore. “We had a good time, but we found out we were too much for each other to handle. We all have baggage and I have too much of it.” I knew I shouldn’t have said that, but I did.

“Baggage?” she sat up, intrigued.

“Yes, you have baggage too, I bet.” I sassed.

“Is that where the drunk name calling from him came from?”
