Niall and I talked about meeting his mom a while back and we never got around to actually doing it. We’ve been serious for a long time now and I still have yet to meet any of his family. He said I can meet his dad and brother after he is done touring in America, but he wants me to meet his mom before. So it’s the beginning of May and I’m taking a trip to see him then meet Maura. I’ve talked to her a few times. She called Niall when he was with me last month and she wanted to talk to me. We did and then I gave her my number and she called and texted me sometimes. She asks about how I am and stuff like that. She likes to tell me about Niall, like how he was as a kid and how he would always talk about me to her. She said he was so nervous to call me after the festival and how she tried to get him to call so many times. She said he went to her when we broke up. She told me a lot of stuff Niall would probably wish she hadn’t but I liked her telling me that stuff.

I was on the plane preparing to land. I hated this part. I will never get used to this long flight across the Atlantic. I wish I didn’t have to do so often. The thing that sucked was that I would have to turn around and take another flight back because I’m going to back to America with the Niall and the boys so they can start their tour in week, but they’re going early.

After the plane landed, I got my carry-on, since I didn’t need anything really, and Niall told me he’d be waiting for me at the airport. I walked myself towards the exits and pick-up. I saw a few cameras but not as many as when I’m leaving.

I had spoken too soon. I got closer to the exit and they tripled. I put my head down, blocking the flashes with the brim of Niall’s snapback. I look up quick to see where I was going and I caught his stare. I grinned like crazy and ran to him tossing my backpack carry-on onto my back. I slowed down once I got closer and dropped my bag to the floor, jumping into his arms. He pecked my lips before setting me back down. I looked the side of him and saw a woman.

“(y/n), this is my mom.” Niall said, stepping back.

“Hi!” I grinned and accepting her hug.

“How are you, (y/n).” she smiled.

“I’m great now. I was a bit tired, but I’ll be alright.” I picked up my bag and put it back on my back.

“We’re gonna get some lunch.  You hungry?” Niall asked pulling me too him and slinging his arm over my shoulders.

I nodded. “I’m starving.” I groaned and Maura and Niall laughed.

We went to Niall’s first so I could change. I brought something to wear while I’m here and then something to wear on the flight back tonight. I put on a pair of dark wash skinny jeans and a v-neck t-shirt with a zip-up over it. I fixed my hair a bit and put my shoes back on. I met back with Niall and Maura in Niall’s living room before we left for lunch.

The lunch was fun. I didn’t know Maura was this funny and she laughed a lot. I guess that’s why Niall did too. I could tell he was a major momma’s boy. She told him to eat slower and to chew with his mouth shut and I would snicker. Maura was very kind and I was comfortable to be around her. She didn’t make me nervous at all.

“Mum?” Niall asked after we finished eating.

“Yes, Niall?” I was kind of afraid of what he was going to ask.

“Do you think I picked a good one?” he smiled at me and held my hand on the table.

I blushed and looked down at my lap.

“Niall I told you before.” She laughed. “I think she’s perfect for you.” I looked up and smiled.

“I know. I just wanted her to hear you say it.” He leaned over to peck my lips.
