(Niall’s POV)

This morning as I was woken up to the feeling of being almost pushed out of my bed, I jumped awake and saw a surprised look on (y/n)’s face before she started laughing. She was standing at the side of my bed, fully dressed and her hair straightened. I rubbed my eyes and looked around the room to see her bag by the door and her coat draped over it.

“The cab is outside, its 6:45 am.” She frowned.

I sighed and got out of bed, causing (y/n) to take a step back. I only had boxers on so I went to my dresser and got out a pair of joggers and a jumper. I put them on quickly and helped (y/n) take her stuff downstairs. I turned to her and watched her put on her coat and boots. I heard the cab beep and I rolled my eyes.

“This is it then.” She said, putting her backpack on and then my hat I had given her at our last goodbye. I smiled up at it and then my gaze looked into her eyes. “I always travel with it.” She smiled.

I tilted my head and rested my hands on both sides of her face, before I connected our lips. I felt her tears drop onto my thumbs and I wiped them away. I wrapped my arms tightly around her and gave her one more hug, before letting go. I opened the door and saw the cab at the end of my drive-way. It was colder than it had been the last few days. I went to pick up her bag but she stopped me.

“Can we just say goodbye here? I just want to get it over with.” She dropped her head and picked up her bag.

“Okay.” I could feel my stomach turning, I felt so sick.

“Bye Niall.” She kissed me softly. “I love you.”

“Call when you land, so I know you’re safe.”

“I will.”

“I love you, too.” She started out the door and walked down the steps. “Bye lovebug.”

She turned slightly to look at me with a grin on her face. “Bye babe.” I blew her a kiss and she did the same in return.

The driver took her bags and put them in the trunk then held the door open for her. He shut it once she was settled in the back seat and we looked at each other one last time. She wiggled her fingers at me and she was taken away. I watched the car turn down the street and out of sight.

I decided going back to bed would be the best thing to do for now. I walked through my house and it felt lonely. I should be used to having no one here, but it was like the past couple days with (y/n) made me feel like she lived here with me. She called it home. I liked that. I wish I was going with her.

I woke up after I fell asleep on the couch and decided to flip through the channels on the TV. Yet again, I heard (y/n)’s name. I watched a clip of her walking through the airport with her head hung low and my hat covering her face. It pissed me off that I didn’t go with her to keep them out of her face. I could see she was crying and I wasn’t sure if it was because of them asking her about all that cheating bullshit or because we had just said goodbye once again.

”Do you think (y/n) and Niall parted ways?” A woman on the talk show asked her co-host.

The other host tapped her fingers thinking about the question. “I would just look at them as a couple.” Photos of us popped up on the screen from yesterday. “He looks so in love with her. They hold hands and they are all kissy and touchy feely.” Other photos of us flashed onto the screen too. There was one where I was kissing her against my car and I smiled remembering it. “And she looks like she’s in love too. That was only yesterday. Then this morning in the airport she was wearing his hat, so I’m guessing those tears where just sad goodbye tears.”
