I can't believe we are on the fortieth chapter... Wow. I have up to chapter forty-nine written and I still have a little more to write if I ever get out of this funk.

Enjoy! (✿◠‿◠)

I was fucking right, it was a bad day. I never imagine that anything like this would have ever happened. I can’t believe now I have to do a show with a black eye. It fucking kills and I finally stopped sobbing. I held the ice pack to my face as everyone around me was setting up for the gig. The boys would check on me and make sure I was okay. I tried to play it tough because I didn’t want to let down fans and have the boys make me go to the hospital. I didn’t want to cancel the show because of this and I knew we wouldn’t be able to make it up to the fans. I would just have to put on twice the amount of make-up.

“Let me see.” Tanner said, sitting across from me in the dressing room.

I took the ice pack away and he winced. I looked over at the mirror and examined my already black and blue bruised cheek. I sighed.

“It looks badass.” Tanner joked.

I gave him a small smile. “It goes so well with the one left on my neck.” I looked in the mirror again. “I look like I got hit by a truck.”

“Now you don’t. Just hit by a psycho.” He laughed and patted my knee. “Does Niall know you got punched in the face?” I shook my head. He groaned, “Do you want me to?” I nodded. “Fine, I’ll call.”

Soon Tanner was on the phone waiting for Niall to pick up and once he did he put it on speaker so I could hear Niall.

“Hello?” he answered.

“Hey Niall. It’s Tanner.” He set the phone on the makeup table next to us.

“Oh hey, what’s up?” he sounded confused.

“I’m calling to let you know that (y/n) has a black-eye.” I cringed.

“WHAT? HOW?” he shouted.

“We were coming from our bus to the venue and some fans were mobbing us. One of the girls in the crowd shouted something at (y/n) and then decked her in the face.”

“Is she okay? Why didn’t she call me?”

Tanner looked at me. “She’s upset, but she’ll be okay. She wanted me to call because I think she’s embarrassed. She’s right here.”

“Can I talk to her?”

I picked up the phone and took it off speaker. “Niall.”

“(y/n), what did the girl say?”

“Nothing.” I lied.

“(y/n).” he sighed.

“Fine. She said I didn’t deserve you and that I was a slut and that there was no way your mouth would kiss my nasty neck.” Tanner reached out to hold my hand as I blinked away tears. Niall was silent. “Before I blacked out she said that the black eye won’t even do me justice.” I bit my lip looking down at my lap as Tanner rubbed his thumbs over my knuckles.

“(y/n). I’m so sorry. I feel like shit. I should have been there protecting you.”

“There was no way you would have known someone would react like that.”

“It’s fucking ridiculous.” He huffed.

(Niall’s POV)

“Niall, calm down, please. I have a headache.”
