(Niall’s POV)

We are currently flying out to LA right now. I sat in one of the large seats in the jet, trying to sleep but it was no use. The boys were wide awake, laughing and yelling about nonsense. Usually I would be right in there, but honestly, going to America made me think of (y/n). I admit that night in Australia was the best I’ve ever had. That was until she made me leave. I regret the words that spilled out of my mouth before I slammed that door. I absolutely regret telling the boys what she had done and then getting caught calling her a slag and having the world turn on her. She was far from anything I had called her. She was so beautiful and she respected herself. She had only slept with two people before me.

She loved Kyle and I was jealous because she didn’t love me. I get she had a very horrible past, but I won’t ever get why she’s so afraid. She pushed me away when all I wanted was to hold her forever.

“Niall. Earth to Niall.” I snapped out of my thoughts and saw Harry sitting next to me, waving his hand in my face.

“What?” I asked, frustrated.

“(y/n) is in LA this weekend.” He played with his bottom lip between his thumb and index finger.

“How do you know that?” I knitted my eyebrows.

“We text every once in a while.”

“Why?”

“Because I’m trying to be a friend to her and when you threw her name in the dirt, she needed someone.”

“So what? Are fucking her?” I yelled, standing up.

“What? No. Niall you’re my best mate, you really think I would do that?”

“No.” I sat back down and sunk into the seat.

“I wouldn’t ever do that. I see the way you look when her name is mentioned or when you see her on TV or hear her on the radio. Niall, you look so hurt and it breaks my heart man.” He put his hand on my shoulder and squeezed.

“I miss her. I really miss her. We weren’t even together that long and my mind never leaves the subject of her. “ I started letting the tears I held in for so long fall down my face. “If we see her, can you lads be there for me. Make sure I don’t do anything stupid.” He simply nodded.

We landed at LAX and I sighed. I wasn’t sure I would run into her, but I just had this feeling I would be hearing a lot about her this trip. It didn’t take long until that became true. We were in the van heading to our hotel when an advert came on the radio.

“Don’t miss (y/n) from the Lovebird’s Cage’s tell all story tonight at seven, where she tells the world all her secrets.”

Louis whispered to the driver and I saw he was reaching over to change the station. “No! Don’t!” I shouted from the very back seat.

The advert continued, “:She’ll be talking about her past romances and life in high school. This special will reveal many things you would have never guessed about the beautiful rock star.”

The advert ended and I sat back into my seat. The boys all watched me as I ran my hands through my hair.

The radio host started to talk. “I know I’m excited for that tonight.” She laughed. “Let’s play their new single then. This is ‘This Isn’t Goodbye, It’s BRB’ (we are the in crowd)”

I sat and listened with my eyes shut, knowing the boys were still starring.

This isn’t me

And I hate what we’ve become

This isn’t my life

And I don’t know where it went wrong
