"Well, well, well. Isn't this interesting." We looked up. Zaros was sitting on a dark throne, his legs crossed. The throne had dark silver spikes coming off of it. The floor tiles were now dark shades of grey. He himself wore a dark grey cape with a black outfit, like before. Except now he was in battle armor. He knew we were coming. But how? I looked at a chain which was attached to a throne. The chain lead to a girl. She was in a simple white dress, chained to the throne. She looked up and saw us. Zaros smirked. "Do you like my little trophy?"
"Avaros."
"I see you do. But she won't be responding." Zaros got up from his chair. "The clamp on her neck is a wonderful thing, don't you think? It's enchanted with a spell. She won't be able to speak."
"She will after we are done with you!" Starra equipped dual-wielding swords. Zaros shook his head.
"Silly girl." He waved his hand and her swords flew out of her hand. "You have no power here. Now don't interrupt us, or else."
Shadow ropes came up from nowhere and latched onto her arms and legs. I took out my sword and tried to free her.
"It's no use, Dron." I froze. He-he knew my name.
"Oh, yes. I know your name. I also know that you are Amar's son."
"What?" Starra exclaimed.
"No one told you?" Zaros chuckled, starting toward us. "There are bigger reasons why this game was created. It was to finish a duel. Amar was supposed to represent Seto's father who had died. But since I am dead, all I have to do is get Vin out of the game, and he will become my heir to the throne in Bacrai. I have special associates in power already, so he will rule all of the other continents. It is only time before my son will-"
"Rule the world?" I offered.
"More like rule the governing council, but that would work too."
"No one will follow him." Starra told Zaros.
"You don't need to speak." Zaros lifted a hand and her mouth was covered by shadow frost. "Speak again and you will die. Now, where were we?"
"You were probably going to do some more villain monologue-ing before I kill you will some weird trick that I learned during my painful single-day training."
"No, I don't think that's it." The Shadow King tapped his chin then acted like he remembered something. "Oh, right. I think I was going to KILL YOU!"
At the last two words, he sent a stream of shadow fro-snow at me. I deflected with an air current then through a rock from the ground at him. He dodged and took off his cape. He made several shadow arrows and quickly bombarded me with them. I bended a boulder up so I wouldn't be hurt. I hid behind the rock. Okay, time for me to get him. But how? I looked over from my hiding spot. Starra would know what to do. If I do it right, maybe I can get her to tell me without getting herself hurt.
I ran toward her, and covered us with a huge bubble. I separated the shadow frost, breaking the part that was on her mouth. Starra read my mind, knowing what I wanted her to say.
"The chandelier. Cliche, but it might work."
"Thanks." I glanced up and found it. I followed the line of chains and sent a fireball to distract the king. I made them rapid-fire at him. Zaros made me slip on the ice. I turned around. The bubble shield was down. Zaros looked at me and chuckled. He was right in front of Starra, who struggled at her restrains.
"You forgot one thing, Dron. I can hear." Zaros smiled as he stuck out his right hand and shot out his shadow frost into her heart. The shadow frost quickly overtook her body, making her turn to stone. She screamed my name as she breathed her last breath before fully turning. Zaros mocked, saying "Too bad, too, she looked very pretty."
In a fit of rage, I got up and sliced the chain that held the chandelier. It fell on top of him and I stood over him. Fortunately, the weight missed my frozen ally, but pinned Zaros down. I walked up to him.
"Game over." I brought the sword down in the middle of his back. The deed was done. I waited for Starra to come back to life. Or for there to at least be a shockwave or something. I walked up to Starra and poked her nose, then her cheek. "Hello?"
I heard the clanking of chains and spun around. Avaros was gesturing and pointing behind me. I spun around again and got thrown into a pillar. Zaros grinned evilly at me. He picked up the sword and the iron sword turned to shadow.
"You are definitely a fool. For beating me." I tried to move but found I couldn't. The villain laughed.
"You can try all you like," he explained, stepping toward me. "You can't move. My pillars are made with a special ability-they stop whoever has collided on them from moving. At this point, it would be you."
Zaros stood in front of me and sneered. "I guess I can say that I have won. Good bye, Dron. You've had a good run."
The king used the darkness sword and impaled me on it. It hurt so bad I cringed and scream. Dots started to fade at the edge of my vision.
"Don't worry. It will be over soon." I concentrated on the man's face as I felt my body became paralyzed. Soon, all I could feel was darkness.
