Ara left. I may be physically okay, but am I ready for this battle? I hoped I was. Soon afterward, we got into our assigned armor and started traveling through a tunnel into the city. I was up in front, with Luna, Ren, Starra, and Piku. And had a really bad feeling about this fight. I concentrated on the rebel leader's words. They seemed to help. A bit.
"These tunnels were made before you all came here. It was supposed to be an underground society for thieves and rogues, now for it's for all Shadow Rebels -those who are on our side." Piku explained. "We will have about a thousand fetcha before the castle, so everyone needs to be ready as soon as possible. Everyone know the plan?"
"Yes, sir." The troops behind us said in almost pure unison. Is it possible the kuth probably patrolling the streets can hear us? Because they might've just heard us right now.
"Dron, are you ready for this?"
"Kind of. Are you ready? You kind of had to be forced to let your little sister and brother into battle."
"I'm ready for my brother, but not really my sister."
"She is a good fighter, I will tell you that."
"Good. That's good to hear." Piku didn't really sound assured.
"Good luck." Ren said.
"I don't need luck."
"You seem to need some to get over the fact our sister is fighting."
"You can't say that. You weren't in the family for I don't know...your whole life."
"This is not the time to fighting guys." Luna told them, annoyed. "We are almost to the exit. We need to be ready for this."
"Wait, you two down here anyway?"
"To give the flight signal when we emerge."
"Right...I was the one who made that part of the plan, wasn't I?"
"It was your dad."
"Still...I probably should've known that."
"Yes. But no one blames you for anything. And besides, look. We are here." Luna pushes the trapdoor up and we climb out. I look outside and everything resembles midnight in the nighttime, though it is almost day.
We silently slither out, hiding in doorways when the kuth patrol. We get almost halfway to the castle before an alarm goes off. Computer-generated probably. But what am I supposed to do?
"Our cover is blown!"
"We didn't have a cover!"
"Just start fighting, Ren!" Right, fight until we get to the castle. Okay. I spot a Kuth and shoot a one-hit kill. The one who had been struggling to fight him nods at me then goes back to fighting. I shoot a few more fireballs and sprint across the road by Naki, Luna, Starra, Phil, and Piku. Piku gestures to follow him.
"Come on, I think I might know a way that can save some time." We nodded and followed him through many twists and turns. Amazingly, the path did help; we were able to get to the gate. Crys met us there and opened the gates with her song. It also healed her wounds. Mistress of siren training right here. If we lived through this, it wouldn't be a bad idea, actually.
We went through the gates and I realized how transformed the forest was. Where bright flowers grew among the bushes, there were big thorns. The trees lost all of their leaves and were now a dark black wood. There was fog everywhere, which might've been why no kuth had found us yet. There was barely any light. Perfect for our cover-or the enemy's. I realized that we couldn't hear the alarm, if one was still going on anyway. We instinctively formed a sort of circle where we had our backs to each other, but our weapons/hands ready on the outside.
"This place is so creepy." Phil commented, whispering.
"Be quiet." Ren whispered back harshly. "We have no idea if there are any guards patrolling. Though on that note, why are we on a path? Shouldn't we hid off of it?"
"Ugh, when did the arrogant idiot get here?" Piku said. Obviously, we didn't have a good brother-to-brother relationship starting.
"A few alley's back. I followed you. Apparently my cloaking abilities are not easily handled by someone like you."
"Shouldn't you be in the sky, like everyone else?"
"Shouldn't Luna?"
"Can you two be quiet?" Luna whispered sternly. "I know you two don't have much in common, but I also know that we are trying to sneak into the enemy's castle. And the enemy can kill us-like really kill us- if and when he wants us to. So can you please shut your mouth and cooperate?"
"What ever you say, Ms. Bird-who-really-likes-to-lead. Why are you this way in games anyway?"
"I can get self-conscious. But honestly? Now this isn't the time to talk about it."
"Hush, I can see the door." Naki announced quietly. We separated onto each side and began a private chat. I looked from behind a tree. There were five guards-two kuth and three Kinogs.
"Anyone have any ideas on how to get in?" Crys asked.
"No." We responded, except for Starra.
"What about asking that guy?"
"Who?" We looked to where she was pointing. There was a person approaching in a black cloak. The hood was up, concealing his face from view. In daylight and without fog we might've been able to figure out who it was, but not with the nighttime fog.
"I feel like he -assuming that even is a he- looks familiar. But I can't seem to place him." Crys said, watching the person come closer.
"Do you feel like he might not be a threat?" Piku asked.
"Yes."
"Then let's catch the guy." When the person got close to us, we quickly ambushed him and went to one side of the road. Phil and Ren held him at bay. We flipped back the black hood.
