Two years ago, a few hours after Dron's death...
The door swung open. The dim light was still blinding to the prisoner inside. He looked up at the visitor.
"Your warrior has failed you."
"He can be revived. And when he does, he will tear you to shreds."
"What a way to speak to your king."
"You are not king. You do not hold the sword."
"Ah, but I do. Can't you see it? Or is the dim light blinding you too much?"
"You may have a sword, but the one you have isn't the one you seek."
"Always speaking cryptically when you say something important."
"I'm practically programmed that way."
"Yes, you seem to be that way. But you aren't recognizing the obvious- I've won."
"You may have defeated the one I sent. You have yet to defeat my daughter." The man laughed. The captive started to draw something repeatedly in the dirt at the bottom of his cell.
"You don't have a daughter."
"I do-but not even she knows it yet."
"You are bluffing. Who is this girl? Avaros?"
"No. She is not Avaros. She is not someone you have met."
"Who is it then?"
"Someone who will attract Unio."
"The old Arken story? Please, I am pretty sure the player will be defeated."
"This is no meer player." The captive man looked up from his drawing. "This is a girl who doesn't even know who she is. She is a program without a maker."
The visitor looked at what the captive drew. He shook his head, slapping the man with the back of his hand. He messed up the picture.
The picture had been of a stick figure girl. Above her head were three symbols.
The symbols that if combined with the sword would be unstoppable. The symbols were:
