Percys POV

"What do you mean he hasn't beaten you yet?" I say suspiciously. Unfortunately, I see her eyelids droop yet she fights back. Deciding I'll ask her tomorrow, I brush some hair away from her face and say, "It's okay to sleep. I'll be here all night," I coo. I watch her eyelids close and listen to her breathing become even.

Time lapse

Light shines in the hospital's window, causing the light from the sun hit Annabeth's face, letting her stunning features become visible. Her beautiful gray eyes flutter open and take in the scene. "Morning," I say. She smiles a little, obviously oblivious to knowing what she said last night.

Why would I take what she said seriously if she was on drugs and loopy, you may ask. To be honest, I'm not sure. Maybe it was because no one says stuff like that when they are drugged? Or maybe it was the sense of sincerity.

A doctor comes in and places another I.V. in her arm. "You should be able to come home before dinner today," the doctor says. Annabeth nods and the doctor leaves the room.

"Annabeth, I need to talk to you," I say.
