Annabeth's POV
I've been upstairs all day, ignoring calls from Percy. He's tried to talk to me through the door, but I don't listen. I just want to be alone.
My phone starts to buzz with texts, and as I look down I see they are from classmates.
To scared to show?
Never thought you'd skip a day
Can't take a day off to pray to your sprits

Many others fill my phone. I sigh, this is overwhelming.
"Annabeth? Open up, I want to talk," I hear Percy say. My eyes close in slight annoyance, as I go to open it for the first time today since the pictures.
Percy seems surprised by my willingness and walks in to the room. After I shut the door, a feeling of arms being wrapped around my body startles me. I don't hug back, I shake him off.
"Annabeth, listen, they don't control whether we go out or not! I want you to be my girlfriend. No one else!" Percy says.
"If I do that, everyone will know about my dad. They already have seen the video, I don't want anymore teasing or stress. Trust me I've had enough today," I mutter the last part.
"But we can tell someone! Then they can-" Percy says, only to be cut off by me.
"Don't you see! If we tell someone, word spreads, they'll know. If we date, they'll know. Either way involves knowledge and the police! Percy I can't have this stress!" My voice gets high at the end and my breathing becomes shallow.
"Shh... Shh...," he says while rubbing my arms. "You're alright. We'll figure it out, I promise," he coos.
It feels like pins are sticking in my chest, closing up my lungs and throat.
A groan escapes my lips and he digs in my bag to find my inhaler and my medicine.
After using it, I begin to relax a little.
I lay my head on Percy's chest as my breathing slows, and he brings us to the guest bed. He strokes my hair and coos for me to sleep.
The last thing my mind wanted to do was sleep, but his voice convinced me. My eyes begin to get heavy, and I fall asleep on his chest.
